ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — President Trump’s dismissal of Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “s-hole countries” whose inhabitants are not desirable for U.S. immigration shocked people around the world and provoked swift condemnation.
“The African Union Commission is frankly alarmed at statements by the president of the United States when referring to migrants of African countries and others in such contemptuous terms,” said Ebba Kalondo, the spokeswoman for the African Union.
The reaction from the United Nations human rights spokesman, Rupert Colville, was uncharacteristically blunt. He described the remark as “racist.”
In Haiti, people took to Twitter to share pictures of their country — verdant green hills, palm trees in the sunset, and sparkling turquoise water.
“Hey #S-HolePresident!” wrote Harold Isaac. “Here is what my #s-hole looks like.”
The deputy secretary general of the African National Congress, the party once led by Nelson Mandela, hit back at Trump’s comment during a news conference in South Africa.
“Ours is not a s-hole country. Neither is Haiti or any other country in distress,” Jessie Duarte said.

The only s-list country I’ve visited is El Salvador. It’s definitely a s-hole.
But I’ve also been to Nicaragua which is clearly a s-hole but not on Trump’s s-list. I’ve also been to other non-s-list countries that have large s-hole areas. Countries like China, Paraguay, Brazil, and Mexico are not official s-holes, but have large s-hole regions. /s-

A relative of mine has hosted foreign exchange students many times over the years.
One of them several years ago was from Japan and happened to be back in the States on vacation over the recent holiday. She is a very intelligent and wonderful person. She was staying with my relative and we got to talking.
She doesn’t like Japan and wants to move. She and her husband decided to move to Australia. When I asked why they picked Australia she told me they tried for years to get a VISA to come to the US but were denied.
I can only guess why....
Her country is not a shithole.
I would like the Democrats to explain why it is better for my family and my fellow American to pick someone from a shithole like Niger or Libya or Haiti over this 24 year old from Japan.
Wow. I always thought of Haiti and most of Africa, and India, in the same way as philly and detroit, NYC before Giuliani, and I know the only reason Chicago is clean is because the wind blows the trash into the lake.
After looking at Isaac what’s his name’s twitter pics I have come to the conclusion that God has made a beautiful earth for us and wherever we go, we leave our mark, for good or bad. Smiling at the thought of landscaping a mountainside with a huge waterfall, flowers and trails, dogwoods, redbuds, shade gardens, bridges, etc, etc. Anywho. Isaac what’s his name is a long time never trumper.
Now the Japanese are OCD when it comes to litter so Japan is very clean but the interracial marriage thing is weird. Just saying humans are humans and we all have our own culture with its gifts and detriments. There really isn’t anywhere I would like to go visit except...Israel. Only because of its past and future. Not the present.
