Their independence was not organized like the U.S.. Haiti was at best a sugarcane factory for France, and not a society of “citizens” rising in revolt over red tape issues.

Then Hewitt went into a discussion of countries, including those he has visited, Guatemala, Mexico, etc. He made a whole string of comments that were negative about those countries and how he never wanted to go to any of them. His standard seemed to be “If the door to the hotel opens on the parking lot then it is beneath him.” But he used non-racist soft words like “unpleasant” rather than allegedly racist words.
