President Trump reportedly complained during a Thursday meeting with lawmakers about immigrants from shithole countries coming to America.
The Washington Post quoted Trump, based on a source who was in the meeting, saying:
Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here? The president was specifically referring to immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries and a proposal to restore protections to them.
The lawmakers in the meeting were Lindsey Graham and Dick Durbin. The Post notes:
Graham and Durbin thought they would be meeting with Trump alone and were surprised to find immigration hard-liners such as Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), at the meeting. The meeting was impromptu and came after phone calls this morning, Capitol Hill aides said. The administration is working on a bipartisan immigration deal which seeks to permanently implement DACA and establish robust border security. Protections for immigrants and the visa lottery will likely take a hit as part of the deal. The White House has indicated that a bipartisan deal has not been reached, but they are hopeful a deal will be brokered soon.
UPDATE: In a statement, the White House does not deny that the president said the above quote behind closed doors.

Agreed. Reeks of fake to me.
Why would you be shocked that President Trump, born and bred in Queens, NYC, is not above using swear words?
I'm glad he said it! It's the truth.
I think all the people trying to get the hell out of those shit holes would agree with Trump.
I dont mind people from shithole countries coming here. What I do mind is they still act like the way they were living in their shithole country. Get them outta here.
It’s great to have a President for a change who asks the right questions.
Most people would agree with Trump, but they dare not say it publicly the same way Trump said it. But, he’s right.
Wasn't this meeting televised? and the media was there? So why would they have to quote a source?
Yes!
Did that really happen?
I know you are a very smart & Sharp man. My father and my mother’s parents Came From Italy. I know a lot of Irish came. I don’t know what Italy was like at the time but I’m assuming it was not as bad as these countries. Same with Ireland. Would that be correct?
I agree 100% with what Trump said I just don’t want to sound like a hypocrite
Id like to believe he said this ...but I highly doubt it.
If true, who were the GOP leakers?
This won’t hurt Trump.
It will strengthen his base.
And probably add to his base.
Let me guess, Hillary probably made similar comments and got a pass from the Post and other drive by media.
Biden had a famously potty mouth and got a pass for it. Dems always do.
I AM UPSET THAT MY GOVERNMENT INSISTS ON IMPORTING THE POISON OF ISLAM!
In a way, the question answers itself.
People from wonderful countries are probably content to stay where they are.
I don’t imagine there are people breaking down barriers to get into the U.S.A. from New Zealand or Tahiti (French Polynesia).
But I share the frustration about a flood of unsuitable immigrants who don’t bring even the basic desire to fit in and make the most of an opportunity to better themselves, instead (in both your country and mine) we seem to get a lot of immigrants who come with the agenda of making our country more like theirs. No thanks.
Stop the presses, Trump the first man in history to use a curse word! That’s it, the world will surely explode now!
That you are banging on Trump for calling countries "shitholes" while your Freeper handle is "stuck_in_new_orleans" is somewhat perplexing....
The comment is accurate and to cry about it is to be a bend-over PC zombie.
Washington compost quoting a source.
Yeah, sounds like fake news to me.
