(Rep. Martha McSally) that Democrats’ continued push for a so-called “clean” DACA bill is a non-starter for House Republicans.

“It’s not happening,” Ms. McSally, Arizona Republican, said on Fox News.

he said Democrats are pushing for a deal that just protects recipients of the Obama-era program Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals without any additional reforms to the immigration system, and are willing to hold up the upcoming budget deadline.

“They are trying to hold our budget negotiations hostage to this issue and it’s our military that is suffering the most,” Ms. McSally said.

President Trump announced the end of the DACA program last fall after continued legal questions, but urged Congress to act on the issue, giving them a deadline of March 5. He also wants the bill to address other immigration problems as well, particularly his long-promised border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
