Sams Club, a unit of Wal-Mart Stores Inc, closed a series of stores following a review, the membership-only store chain said in a tweet on Thursday.
The tweet came after a series of reports from local news outlets said some Sam's Club stores were closed abruptly on Thursday, with employees learning of the move as they arrived for work.

I guess that WMT announcement about a minimum wage increase and bonuses for those with over 20 years won’t apply to those workers/locations.
Where?
I didn’t see a list of the stores locations that were closed. pretty poor public relations on the part of Wal-mart/SAMS.
Never shopped in a Sam’s Club before. Only Costco - and that’s because my wife wanted a membership there.
Does anyone out there like it? How does it compare to Costco?
List is in this article.
All you have to do is go in a Sam’s one time, and that’s all you need to know. Costco is light years ahead on products and service.
All over the US.about 60 clubs.
Guess they are trying to hide it by trumpeting their bonus payouts in the news.
Ive n ver bern in a Sams. Have been hoping to get to one. Now hope to get to see one before it closes. Have friends near Sams Who like it and say its competitive with Costco, which they also like and patronize Im betting Walmart knows how to run a pretty good Sams
Thanks for the link
I noticed that the majority of the store closings are in Democrat areas..
Here’s a list of closures rounded up from local media reports and Sam’s Club employees that contacted Business Insider. The list will be updated as we learn of additional locations.

However, I don't usually patronize places run by leftists in Seattle. (Even that well-regarded coop, REI, which bestowed on me a "lifetime membership" about 40 years ago.)
Sam's is the lesser of two evils.
Sam’s is more business oriented than COSTCO, Sam’s takes all credit cards, COSTCO only takes VISA
Thanks. FYI: if ever you see any Walmart / Sams Club closures in Arkansas, then you know the chain is in serious trouble.
Walmart really sucks balls. My sister went to her SC this morning to go to the pharmacy, was escorted there by a guard, and she said employees were “sobbing” inside the store because they had no idea the store was closing today. They couldn’t have sent a freakin’ email or text to workers last night, let alone the 2 weeks notice companies used to have?
Sams are great. Get lots of different stuff there. Not for everyone I guess.
The only one I know of on the list is in a questionable area.
Exactly my experience. The Sam’s we went into, when they offered a membership deal years ago, was dank, cramped and weirdly organized. But I must admit that the customers dressed “more creatively” than those at Costco!
They closed one in Memphis. My employer was supposed to deliver a load of milk and just learned this
A lot of the stores are in high tax states - CA, IL, NJ, NY - coincidence?
