The retailer will launch a retail website on Feb. 15, CEO Ronny Shmoel said.

I use amazon like a catalog to find what I want, then shop the interent. Always I get a better deal elsewhere and I am not supporting the evil Bezos.
But it is hard to beat the convenience of Amazon and the instant gratification.
I was happy to see them go. It was insulting to walk into a half-empty store and be ignored by sales associates who stood in a bunch, looking at customers with contempt. They went belly-up for good reason.
One of my former bosses who was an electronics nut called it “suck it city”.
The salespeople in the PC department of CC used to be awful.
As many problems as I have with Bezos as a person, Amazon does things so well.
Just thinking about WHAT they do and do consistently well boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
I ordered a replacement windshield for my Willys jeep from Amazon.
It arrived on time but the trip was kind of rough though. There was a tiny bit of structural damage.
I figured I’ll return the frame and contacted Amazon.
Amazon told me to keep it. With a little force, I got the frame on and looks pretty good.
I guess it was deemed to much trouble to send it back.
I bought a $2500 TV at Best Buy. The associate who wrote the order up said I could save ten percent using a BB credit card. I didn’t have one. She said I could apply right there and get the discount. I passed it up. I have some remorse now at the thought of spending an unnecessary $250. D’oh.
Amazon never ceases to amaze me.
It only seems to get better.
Sears could have been what Amazon is. Sears had mail order down to near perfect science from what I remember.
I find the service EVERYWHERE these days is disgusting, employers are VERY BLESSED to find a FEW people with a GREAT work ethic anymore!!!!
If people bothered to shop around, the Amazon hype would end.
Ive had some good experiences at Best Buy. Back in 2004 I purchased a townhouse and in the move, my TV must have gotten damaged. But it was very old, probably going on 20 years, a Magnavox console TV that I inherited from my father after he died. The picture was fine, great picture and color, but there was no sound.
I went to Best Buy to look at new TVs but this was just when HD and flat screens, LCD and plasmas were coming out and many of them were quite expensive, many beyond my budget at the time.
I was talking with the young sales rep who came up to me asking if I needed help or had any questions, and in our conversation told him about my TV still having a great picture but no sound. Then he did something that really surprised me. He told me that I might be better off waiting for a year to purchase a new TV as the prices were bound to come down and suggested I purchase a small compact Sony stereo, showed me one for about $60 that I could hook up to the TV or my VCR via RCA plugs. And it worked! And about a year later when I purchased a new TV I bought it at Best Buy and still had a nice compact stereo that for a while had in my office.
Ive also purchased two laptops at Best Buy and a cable modem (and again the sales guy was very helpful finding me the one at the best price that was compatible with Comcast) and more recently a new flat screen at a very good price.
I wouldnt have a problem with purchasing something like a TV at Amazon but living in an apartment, I wasnt comfortable having something like that, especially a big item dropped off in front of my door in an apartment hallway. Ive made a lot of Amazon purchases over the years but mostly small in terms of size stuff.
But where will the pop up halloweeen stores take place then?
Frys gives me claustrophobia. How do you ever get out?

I believe there are a couple in a small town in the upper part of SC still lived in.
HH Gregg deserved to go under based on the couple of times I went there and ended up going to Best Buy instead.
I recall one time looking to purchase a Comcast compatible cable modem and aside from not being able to find anyone to help me, when I finally did, he was not at all knowledgeable and was rude and surly to boot. And a friend of mine purchased a washer and dryer and when it was delivered and unpacked the control panel on the washer appeared to have been damaged and didnt work at all, and HH Gregg wouldnt allow them to return it or exchange it for another and the store manager told my friend, contact the manufacturer because its not my fing problem.
Its one thing to tell your customer that it is covered under the manufacturers warranty but there was no excuse to be so rude about it.
How long ago did this happen? Amazon has been collecting sales tax on california purchases for years.
