After President Donald Trump referred to a potential DACA deal bill as a “bill of love” in a bipartisan White House meeting, Trump’s 2016 presidential opponent and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush tweeted support for Trump’s immigration discussions.

Trump has been under sustained attack by the media unlike anything I have ever seen and the guy cannot do everything. He is a pragmatist and he is going to make deals based on what is doable. The miracle from my standpoint is that deplorables actually have a seat at the table now. Do you remember what things were like just a couple of years ago? He has gotten a heck of a lot done! I’m grateful for that.

I would be worried about what happened. Then I recall his promises to us. Then I recall the words of some people who had had business dealings with Trump in the past. Every single one said he never goes back on his promises, and that a Trump handshake is more valuable than a written contract.
I HAVE praised him, again and again. But not on this! I don’t want the “deplorable” seat at the table to go to the guy who is raising the white flag.

I live in a school district that was tanked by ESL students. The cost borne by the people like myself paying property taxes skyrocketed.
85% of the public. Any pragmatist will take that percentage all day and twice on Sunday.
Any Jeb!-like deal will cause Republicans to stay home, and the leftists in control will impeach and subdue him, if he survives. So many are in denial of what is about to transpire.
Daca is the one thing that will guarantee a dem victory in 2020.

Trump said he wanted merit-based. But then said he will sign whatever they bring him. And repeated it.
I’m not at all surprised if Trump doesn’t want to use the political capital he has against a group with an 85% approval rating. Better to address chain migration and the wall.

Agree. New York Donny’s blathering about “Love” for illegal aliens was disgusting and a direct kick in the teeth for his supporters.
If he signs an Amnesty Betrayal, he will end up actually INCREASING the rate of third world migration over that of Obama.
Think about that, a man who campaigned on a “Wall” will end up out Obama-ing Obama on the immigration-fueled destruction of our homeland.
I’ve overlook all criticism of Trump until this. If swamp creature Jeb is for this I am VERY concerned.

It is very simple.
Immigrants legal or illegal will vote for democrat politicians
Democrat politicians will turn the USA into Venezuela as they are all marxists.
So if you want all your property ,money confiscated by the government and to starve standing in day long lines for crumbs that some government bureaucrat decides that you might get then keep voting for democrats and being for immigration amnesty etc.
I however want to be able to own my own house, my own business which gives me individual rights and liberty and freedom. I also want very low taxes and no government regulations and hardly any government as government is the problem.Government is only needed for military, border control, international issues like trade, courts and that's it.

I think Rush got this right, this was 100% political stunt to drive the Wolff book out of the media cycle.It worked. Does anyone think Trump will switch from Improve America,Drain the Swamp,Deport Illegals over to Destroy America,Join the Swamp,Reward Illegals. I don’t think so !
Trump’s two-phase immigration reform will be OK if it starts with a bill to delay by one year the DACA phase-out and to provide complete border wall funding, an end to chain migration, and an end to the visa lottery. Wall construction must be complete and legislation implemented before any discussion of longer term DACA occurs. (NOTE - DACA is already fixed so there’s no real need to do anything related to DACA, it just phases out over a 2yr period which is good)
If any illegal ever ever gets a “path to citizenship” and to vote , then that is AMNESTY. The definition isn’t going to change and amnesty is NOT on the table. Ever. It is unacceptable. What is an acceptable trade is a delay to the daca phase-out. This may take many steps and iterations. After all other reforms are completed. Then some permanent residency will be ok but never ever citizenship.
The second phase would involve comprehensive immigration reform.
This must incude
1) Mandatory Everify (severe penalties) for both employers and landlords.(a 3strikes law would be great with increasing fines and on a 3rd violation life in prison plus asset forfeiture)
2) End the anchor baby law and sanctuary cities.
3) Ban illegals from ever receiving tax payer benefits plus a 5 year waiting period for legal immigrants to receive benefits.
4) Reduce legal immigration by half. Restore the priorities to Europeans.
5) Deportation on contact by any law enforcement agency whether local,state or federal.
6) Deport every other illegal except those 800K or so.
7) IRS to prosecute “identity theft”
Trump is the one with leverage since if congress does nothing then DACA just phases out. #MAGA
