Boeing delivered a record number of commercial airplanes last year, the company reported Tuesday, firing up a rally in the company's stock.
The aerospace giant delivered 763 planes, one more than its previous high set in 2015. The company's stock rallied after the report, closing up 2.7 percent at $318.43 and leading the Dow industrials higher.
Boeing, whose shares have more than doubled over the last 12 months, said it booked orders for 912 commercial airplanes, the seventh highest annual total for the company.

Well good for Boeing. Not a super fan, but glad to see an American business kicking ass in the new Trump economy.
I own Boeing! Since 2003.
The stock has more than quadrupled since then.
MAGA!
1985 here. :-)
You lucky dog! Life is good is it not?
I had an amateur fascination with airplanes as a child. They still fascinate me. One of my first pay checks after graduating college was to get in on Boeing. It was minimal but I was a Boeing stockholder from that day on.
BA now worth more than GE
Right.
Trump needs to be much more supportive of American companies.
By that I do not mean Chinese companies which manufacture things in China, but SELL in America. I do not mean companies which used to be American, and now operate in China, manufacturing there, but selling around the world.
That is not why you were elected Mr. President.
I mean American companies. President Trump, build up America again.

A little over 2 a day.
LOL
Trying to out-747 the 747 50 years too late. Good ol Europe, always doing the wrong thing and the wrong time.
A380 is a fat ugly plane without a built-in transition to cargo, total fail compared to the original jumbo.
New Coke?
Mazda and Toyota just announced today that they're building a new $1.6 billion plant in Alabama. Should Trump tell them to take a hike -- because they're not AMERICAN companies?
Stop the pathetic hand-wringing and get out of the 1890s.
Nope.
Bring jobs back to America.
Just because everyone is selling out, doesn’t mean it’s not wrong to sell out.
Boeing hit a home run on strategizing vs Airbus relying on state subsidies to brute force its A380 program currently losing money.
There is a difference between Japanese bringing manufacturing here and the Chinese globalist farce consisting in oushing Climate Change politics so that they fire up coal plants to become the factory of the world.
No one here is arguing against Japanese setting up factories here.
* pushing climate Change
Built in transition to Cargo? So the 747 is modular? Did not know thst. I think they were under pressure to keep the A380 weight low, so much they switched to aluminum instead of copper wiring, and I hear it is a maintnance nightmare because they break in the bends.
The 747 was built with the pilot’s cab on the upper deck, so the nose can be opened for cargo.
380 has the lower deck cab location, so not so easy to use that front end for loading massive items.
