It’s all about the Wall. If he gets the wall, he wins.
DACA for the wall is a fair deal. Don’t think DEMs will go for it though.
Anyhow, the wall. That is all that matters for Trump’s fortunes on immigration. He knows that. He’ll get it done.
You left out ending chain and diversity immigration with a chance of no birth right citizenship.
No, it is not just the wall. What good is the wall if 30-60 million illegal aliens already here in the US get to stay?
We lose if Daca invaders and whole families get citizenship ..
It will Texas and FL by 2018 .
That is the Dem game plan here .
why should we negotiate for daca forget it its amnesty.
i think Trump will make the strong stand. If he doesnt the hypocrisy would over whelm him. This was the reason he was elected. I understand that he wants to be one of the boys here but he promised he would shut down the non essential government if we don’t get the wall. ALL THW WALL. It has been a year and we have nothing. The time is now and the issue is Daca. I have confidence in Trump to save the sovereignty of our country and either get the wall, the end of chain migration and e verify as a crime if you don’t do it or Daca is a non starter and get their illegal butts out of here. His defining moment looms.
Yep...and not talks about the wall, promises about the wall, or plans for the wall. An actual wall is all that counts.
No it is not. End chain migration, go to a merit based immigration system and build the wall. Then we can talk about DACA. Oh and cut funding to sanctuary cities/states.
Dims wouldn’t go for it.
They really could give two craps about the “dreamers”
But they, like the palestians, need something to rage about.
If Trump gets the wall funded, the end of chain migration, the end of the lottery migration, more border security funding, I would be very surprised. The dems don’t care enough about daca to give up all of that. There should also be a number of provisions on who can stay. No run-ins with the law, no welfare, must speak English, and no voting privileges. Ever.
I agree, although the individuals who came in on the program should be reassessed to see if they actually qualify. One of the main reasons I voted for Trump was because of his promise to build the wall.
I’m not sure many people think that DACA for a wall is a fair or even good idea.
And if DACA is approved with only promises of a wall or partial wall, or additional security measures, or similar baloney then that’s going to really hurt his reelection. Although if the economy is humming along, he might get by.
Bottom line is Trump is on VERY thin ice approving any DACA amnesty for anything in return.
DACA for the wall? That’s no way a fair deal.
We’ve been sold this crappy ‘just this once’ BS twice before, with assurances from the elitists that immigration would be brought under control, both legal and illegal. Never happened, as we know.
Why should be buy the same load of horse manure yet again?
DEPORT THEM ALL, and BUILD THE WALL.
We have this chance to (hopefully) save this grand experiment. One chance.
The Wall funding or wall security funding is essential as is ending chain migration. The latter may even be more dangerous than not having the wall.
Wrong.
The wall is secondary.
All that matters is the net rate of third-world migration, legal and illegal, into our homeland.
Either that comes way down, or the USA dies.
So far Trump has achieved no meaningful reductions.
DACA would be a massive step in the wrong direction.
Yup. A "Read my lips/Read my hips" flip off to the base will result in a GHWB-style defeat.

Trump doesn’t win if he gets the wall, because all he’ll get is a promise of a wall. Plus he’s only getting part of a wall. The wall isn’t along the entire border.
Make any DACA deal contingent on the entire wall being completed BEFORE any part of it kicks in. Plus an end to chain migration, anchor babies, and the immigration lottery. Add in an immigration cap for good measure. That will be winning.
That statement reminds me of when obamsky suggested that sick patients take an aspirin and go home. (Instead of taking the requisite medical steps to cure their illness.)
DACA, chain migration, and anchor babies are most serious threat to the long-term survival or restoration of a free American Republic.
The wall is an "aspirin" fix that is a politically visual and minimal solution to remove this long-term threat.
This is not the time for the "pay it later" strategy favored by most politicians.
The wall, and the end of the visa lottery and chain migration is a good deal for DACA. The art of the deal.
