RUSH: Well, it may be sunny, but it is 60 degrees here, and I’m telling you, for us… (laughing) I shouldn’t even mention it, not with people sitting there a minus-zero wind chill. It’s cold to us. It’s relative. It is very cold to us. I mean, there are people that are gonna laugh. Like tomorrow the weather forecast here has a high of 64, which will happen about two or three in the afternoon, but the wind is gonna be out of the north-northwest at about 15 to 20. It’s gonna make it feel like 55 or less.
There will be guys who will not play golf ’cause it’s too cold. Now, at the AT&T Pro-Am every year you tee off every day when it’s 38, and it warms up to 65, and that’s in Northern California. When that happens, it feels hot. Sixty-five here? I’m telling you, folks: To us who are never in winter anymore, 65 feels like 25 or 30. And I’m not exaggerating. I went to Missouri for Christmas. (laughing) I said, “I can’t believe I ever lived eight years in New York.” It’s amazing how you adapt to different circumstances.
Have you heard Algore says that all of this freezing cold is because of the warming? It would be a mistake to say that Algore is stupid because he really believes that. He thinks he can make his acolytes believe it. He doesn’t really believe it. See, that’s the difference. Gore doesn’t believe half of the stuff that he’s saying. But he knows that his acolytes do. I mean, you know, every one of these global warming clowns are actually saying that this cold that we’re experiencing is because of climate change.
Even though every other day climate change affects won’t be known for 30 years, 40 years. I mean, that’s a key part of it, that it’s gonna happen way down the road. We can’t afford to wait to find out if we’re wrong. We’ve got to assume we’re right. Okay, so here you got a massive cold front, which they know blows holes through every theory they’ve got of global warming, so they have to say something. And they have to say, “Well, yeah, this is exactly it! Climate change is causing this.”
Climate change causes everything in weather now that’s “extreme.” Do you know what I heard earlier today? Yeah, some tech blogger was making fun of people who are using this massive cold wave to disprove climate change. You know why? Somebody said to him, “Where do you think this cold air comes from?” He said, “The North Pole,” and that’s exactly right. The cold air has left the North Pole because of climate change and has moved way too far south. We’re now getting polar air because of climate change.
He really wanted people to believe that this cold air has left the North Pole and that this is why the ice in the North Pole is melting. So I just checked the temperature at the North Pole, and it’s zero. It’s actually minus zero. We have an EIB thermometer up there (it’s called Siri) and I checked it. But the idea that the polar ice caps are melting right now because the cold air that’s normally up there has left and moved south ’cause of the jet stream, they literally say this. And they say Trump is stupid.

If that was a remote possibility then it would have been mentioned in his "classic" book/movie An Inconvenient Truth. But, while that little gem contained a lot of "information" about what we could expect as our planet warmed due to our own evilness, there was not one word said about widespread cold-snaps and winter storms being a symptom of global warming.
If people cannot see by now that these morons are simply altering their predictions to match the weather, then there is no hope for them.

Instead of summarizing, I'll just paste it below...
Why is it so cold?
Well as you can see the eastern USA and Canada is the coldest, as referenced to normal than anywhere else in the world including parts of the Arctic and even Antarctica.
Temperatures are way warmer than normal in Europe and across Russia through Siberia and Alaska.
In the Southern Hemisphere, it is Summer and a little above normal in temperatures. Antarctica’s summer temperatures today are much warmer than normal.
The Earth has a remarkable way to normalize the energy, so if it’s brutally cold in the USA, it means they are enjoying a beautiful winter somewhere else.
The reason for this is because of the jet stream diving down straight from the Arctic and into the USA just east of the Rockies. This very deep trough in the eastern USA is responsible for the bombo-cyclone genesis that started in Florida and moved up the east coast. Bombo is a term we use for a very rapid dive in surface pressure. Cyclone is another word for low pressure system. And Genesis means the making of or development of or the beginning of.
Even with the brutally cold temperatures here, the northern hemisphere was still averaging, yesterday of 0.9 degrees above normal, while the planet is still averaging 0.6 degrees above normal.
This is a significant departure from normal and day after day the departure from normal is almost always the same.
This is the Earth remarkably balancing it’s energy. The problem is the Earth has a fever and this average value keeps rising.
In fact, there is such an extreme contrast in temperatures of way above normal and way below normal and recently we had to add another color to each end of this spectrum because these extremes are getting more and more extreme.
This is, yes, caused by Global Warming and why we say even a cold snap is made worse by Global Warming because the Earth has to balance out the extreme cold air with an area of extreme warm air somewhere else.
The reason for this is because the Arctic is warming faster than the mid-latitudes and this creates less of a contrast between north and south, which in turn affects the jet stream.
The jet stream has been observed to be slowing down. The jet stream at 36 thousand feet or so should be going 100 to 150 knots but it’s gradually slowing down below that.
This causes two problems. The jet stream is not moving it’s troughs and ridges across the northern hemisphere as fast causing areas to have prolonged heat or cold waves, and extended wet and dry periods causing both floods and droughts. And the other problem is a fast jet steam makes this river of air relatively straighter. But now the jet stream is allowed to meander more making higher ridges bringing warm air to the poles and making deeper troughs bringing cold air further south. And these deep troughs really are responsible for this extreme weather event.
This nor’easter still would have happened but Global Warming made it worse and made it develop further south.
The heat wave in Siberia would have still happened but global warming made it worse by bringing the heat further north and also causing it sit for longer periods of time. Give me a sad face so I can tell if you read this whole post.
