If you wish to repeal a bad law, enforce it exactly as written.
The key here is to totally enforce federal drug law rather than ignore Federal drug laws. States are subordinate to Federal drug laws and may not run out on their own under the doctrine of preemption. The first thing is to start the “no Knock” take down of these drug sellers stores in Colorado and slam these weed shop owners in the federal pen for 20 years. I can’t wait to see these new California pot shops getting ran sacked by DEA!! It will make me so happy. State law does NOT preempt Federal law here — It never has and it never will. Session is now a hero to the people of this country !! Crush narcotic sales!!
Sessions headed the DOJ in 2012?
It is already illegal.
You need the Congress to change their laws.
Or you need the feds to reschedule weed
It’s all about sanctuary state/cities. Another law that Congress wants the President to ignore when they can fix it themselves by coming up with an acceptable bi-partisan piece of legislation.
no, sessions kicked the can down the road to SCOTUS where is absolutely needs to be.
Scott's in a pot haze of his own here.
Federal Anti-pot laws are not bad laws. They just haven't been enforced effectively and States have been allowed to flout them.
And if your real goal is to disqualify the number persons eligible for DACA consideration due to their breaking of Federal law by smoking pot, the number of eligible DACAs likely drops from ~ 800,000 to ~100,000.
Trump says OK to DACA getting guaranteed funding for the wall and end to chain migration in exchange for a mere ~100,000 eligible DACAs who were smart enough to keep their noses clean (that is, unless the other DACAs are caught doing cocaine.)
His narrative fails on the basis of its premise that Federal pot laws are bad laws. They are not.
FReegards!
Scott Adams is delusional.
FReep, both a noun and verb according to Mr Adams.
Has Webster’s or Scrabble recognized the concept of FReepdom?
How about the definition of “zot?”
“N00b?”

I did not read what Adams said but it does occur to me that Sessions has given Congress a reason to pass laws legalizing it. Someone in Congress should have the guts to introduce a bill allowing states to pass a law opting out of federal marijuana laws. I dont know who could oppose that.
This site is called Free Republic. Taken, surely, from our founders words. Freedom for thee means freedom for me. Your lifestyle, your religion, living it YOUR WAY. It takes a true understanding of freedom, explained pretty damn well in the Declaration and constitution, missing from the brains of many FReepers who think that if your lifestyle is yucky to ME you shouldnt be allowed to have it.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In the desires of that individual.
If legislators don’t like the law, they are free to change it. That’s what we pay them to do. Law enforcement is not free to decide which laws to enforce and which to ignore. That’s what we pay them to do.
Sorry, but I think Adams is way off. Sessions didn’t kick anything back to the states, he is back to enforcing existing law, which says the Federal regulations overrule the states via the supremacy clause.
As for Congress, they cannot do anything without violating the obligations of all those drug control treaties we forced the rest of the world to sign on to. I don’t think the courts will do anything to resolve the conflict in favor of the states either, because even conservative justices have shown they are willing to prop up bad interpretations of the commerce clause when it comes to enforcing federal drug laws.
Use the pot money to fund the wall. Then let Congress impeach you for building the wall.
Congress needs to change the law. Make it uniform or codify that it’s up to each state to determine the legality of pot.
It’s bad policy to expect or allow AGs to simply disregard laws, which is what has been going on.
It’s the choice between a nation of laws, or one where law is optional depending upon who is running the show.
Enforcing the law will turn up the heat on Congress and get them to act.
