Justice Department reopens Hillary Clinton email investigation
The Washington Examiner ^ | Jan 4 2017 | Kelly Cohen

The Department of Justice has caved to pressure from the White House and is reportedly reopening the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server.

According to the Daily Beast, there is a new effort in the department to get new details on how Clinton and her aides — including former top aide Huma Abedin — handled classified material. The effort will look at how much classified information was on her private email server, and how that information got there.

President Trump has continually questioned if and when the Justice Department would reopen its investigation into Clinton. He tweeted on Dec. 2: “Many people in our Country are asking what the ‘Justice’ Department is going to do about the fact that totally Crooked Hillary, AFTER receiving a subpoena from the United States Congress, deleted and ‘acid washed’ 33,000 Emails? No justice!”

Last week, conservative group Judicial Watch won a lawsuit against the State Department and released emails showing that classified information was on the computer of Abedin’s then-husband Anthony Weiner.

The FBI previously investigated and declined to criminally prosecute Clinton for her use of the email server. But Trump and his supporters used the email debacle as a rallying cry throughout the campaign.

I can’t look at this development as anything other than a move in the right direction.

This could be more about taking down corrupt investigators more than taking down HRC. So sad to see so many joyless negativity here.

The problem for me is this. If we should by some fluke of luck lose the House or Senate, it will change the dynamics of investigations.

We have a window here, and we never know what that window will be slammed shut.

I would avoid elections and possible changes of power.

I can understand the reason for wanting a tie-in around election time, but what if the prosecution goes over into January, and the Democrats have a new majority?

Does anyone get convicted? Do the Democrats game the issue?

Intent not even a factor in violations of the Espionage Act, just taking it releasing secrets IS the crime.

“That forms the intent.”

When you have an email addresses to someone not authorized to receive the information contained there in, hitting the”enter” or “send” button is the intent. It’s like speeding: you is or you ain’t, intent has NOTHING to do with it.

This thread is an example of why I don’t visit FR as much as I used to.

Like a bunch of whining babies, jumping on Sessions slamming for no reason. I don’t believe it! I’m no freaking genius, but it’s clear to me that Sessions is a White Hat and not spewing the beans about everything he’s doing because he’s intelligent and wants results, not fanfare.

Coincidence that the Clinton’s second floor had a fire yesterday? supposedly in the room with computers etc.

Congressional changes do not have to stop these investigations and cases.

I love when he says “your going to be so proud of your president, but I don’t care about that” it because it is so true. Trump really connects, and it is not just for show.

Won’t disagree with that. But perhaps think of this angle:

If someone bad like PIAPS did something like that with regard to Amb Stevens, she’s likely got other crimes on the record that can be exposed.

Al Capone didn’t pay the price for all his crimes, but he did pay a price for one of them.

Another investigation and waste of money. The evidence is dripping from the roof tops in DC.

ARREST THE BITCH and TRY HER.

Will this be a real investigation, or more Kabuki theater?

The latter. It's Jeff Sessions we're talking about.

The soft-peddling on Hillary’s gross criminality has led to just about EVERY attack we’ve seen on Trump since the election. It had a lot to do with the attacks on other republicans in Virginia and Alabama as well.

You have to deal with evil on the front end, or it will metastasize out of control.

No it doesn’t. Imagine any hearings at all against the people we are concerned about right now though. That wouldn’t be happening.

As for any Justice Department activity, it certainly wouldn’t have any backing on Capital Hill.

As for prosecutions in the works, it shouldn’t matter, but then the powers that be in Washington have a way of bringing thing to a halt.

I remember back when the Whitewater hearings were in full sway. One of the attorneys on our side looked like a real bull-dog. Then toward the end he just backed off. Years later he seemed as corrupted as any other beltway jerk.

Can the mood on Capital Hill sway judges or jurors? I’m certain that it can. Without Capital Hill watchdogs, they can also look the other way as Democrats canvas an area sending out bad information.

I think we need to pursue, prosecute, and convict while we can. Any dilly-dallying is to our nation’s detriment > IMO.
