Michael Wolff has tapes to back up quotes in his incendiary book dozens of hours of them.
Among the sources he taped, I'm told, are Bannon and former White House deputy chief of staff Katie Walsh.
So that's going to make it harder for officials to deny embarrassing or revealing quotes attributed to them in "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," out Tuesday.
In some cases, the officials thought they were talking off the record. But what are they going to do now?
Although the White House yesterday portrayed Wolff as a poseur, he spent hours at a time in private areas of the West Wing, including the office of Reince Priebus when he was chief of staff.
The White House says Wolff was cleared for access to the West Wing fewer than 20 times.
Wolff, a New Yorker, stayed at the Hay Adams Hotel when he came down to D.C., and White House sources frequently crossed Lafayette Park to meet him there.
Part of Wolff's lengthy index entry for Bannon:

Some reporters and officials are calling the book sloppy, and challenging specific passages.
How could Wolff possibly know for sure what Steve Bannon and the late Roger Ailes said at a private dinner? It turns out Wolff hosted the dinner for six at his Manhattan townhouse.

If Bannon were Trump's base, Roy Moore would've been sworn in yesterday. Trump's base stayed home in Alabama and Bannon's pick was defeated in what should've been the safest senate seat in the country.
Im saying Trump ends up with success and then this fool comes in and ankle bites
When Trump canned Bannon, Preibus, and Walsh the leaks stopped. That’s all I need to know about those three pieces of s***.
Amen.
No, he doesn’t have to in DC. It’s one party consent:

Trumps personnel mistakes from Priebus on are really legendary. He has created so much needless drama for the forward motion of his agenda.
Unfortunately the blow back from these mistakes will still play out for a while, including the free pass he gave the witch.
Trump will never blame himself for these mistakes but he violated the basic management rule of choosing your key staff very carefully and the political rule of dont hire your campaign staff for government...keep them on the campaign side.
he describes the on-the-record off-the-record situation in detail
Frankly speaking, who cares? You can find similar conversations in hundreds of thousands of places in the USA.
I am interested in knowing how the new tax code will affect me personally.
I am interested in enforcing our laws to keep me safer from terrorists and illegal alien criminals.
I am interested in seeing justice prevail.
I am interested in seeing progress that will make America Great Again.
The hysterical MSM is on the path to self-destruction with its insane focus on the POTUS playing golf, gossip, traveling, and twitter. Do they know the difference between meaningful journalism and petty garbage?
I don’t care if he taped his sources. If the sources lied, and the author and publisher didn’t do their homework to verify, they are still liable.
One party consent audio recording is legal in many places. It’s trivial to look up. One sided consent is all that is needed in the District of Columbia, where the events in question largely took place.

I am fairly certain Wolff gave himself consent to record, if such recordings do actually exist.
Produce the tapes. It’s not rocket surgery.
This is what Wiki says about Wolff and link to the source. It's a red flag.

" Criticism
In its review of Wolff's book Burn Rate, Brill's Content criticized Wolff for "apparent factual errors" and said that 13 people, including subjects he mentioned, complained that Wolff had "invented or changed quotes".[21]"
[21]https://web.archive.org/web/20120718061524/http://www.brillscontent.com/burn.shtml
-snip- "...But seven of the main characters and six others portrayed in-or familiar with-events in the book, disagree. They say Wolff invented or changed quotes. And none of those quoted recalls Wolff taking notes or recording the discussions, some of which took place three years ago.
Six of the thirteen refused to speak for attribution. Three main characters-Thatcher; David Hayden, who appears as the CEO of the McKinley Group, a software firm (and who has since left), and Tom Feegel, former technical director of Wolff New Media-spoke to Brill's Content on the record. A venture capitalist, who appears anonymously throughout the book, spoke to us but would not allow us to use his name. The minor characters who spoke on the record are Goff and journalist Gary Brickman. Another person, who says he is the unnamed Wolff New Media executive vice-president in the book, spoke to us but would not allow his name to be used. Jonathan Bellack, a former Wolff New Media employee, who also spoke to us, does not appear in the book but says he witnessed events the book describes.
Wolff says he has notes and e-mail that back him up, but refuses to release them. "I'm sure people are very surprised to see these meetings come back to life," he says. "But that's good writing. That may be great writing." "
Indeed. Sad to see supposedly conservative people adopting the habits of liberals.
Bannon opted to polish his own knob and the gas bottle hooked to his ego got stuck in the full open position.
It’s fascinating to see the same posters relentlessly blaming Trump for what others have done. The Bannon hire was wildly popular with Trump’s base. Why? Because bc Bannon was perceived/had presented himself as an arch-conservative.
Then Bannon conceived a consuming hatred for Kushner, and things went precipitously downhill. No doubt this is all Trump’s fault; he Jedi-mind-tricked Bannon into launching an anti-Kushner vendetta, and the rest is history.
L.R.Hubbard was also a naval officer!
Yep, and I don't say that lightly either. Y'all best be prepared to go when making statements like the above. I am. (I've had this same tagline for more than 10 years now .... one of these days it's going to be true.)
I think it’s unfortunate we didn’t see more pro-Trump people in the Administration. People who would have supported Trump:
~Rudy Giuliani
~Newt Gingrich
~Chris Christie
(Chris and Newt were strong personalities who do have a tendency to go establishment at times, but in the end, I think they would support Trump.)
~Mike Huckabee
~Sheriff Clarke
~Herman Cain
~Rick Santorum (shared Trump’s thoughts on immigration and trade)
~Katrina Pierson
~Kayleigh Mcenany (who is at the RNC but could have easily worked for Trump)
~Paris Dennard
~Larry Kudlow
~Tony Schaeffer
~John Bolton
These are people who would have been loyal and worked for him supporting his agenda. Many of these are people I assumed would be in the Administration. If a lot of these people came in, they would have been seasoned in politics but willing to fight the establishment and for Trump and would have helped him in his goals. I also think they would have been, if in the Cabinet, locks to make sure that Trump doesn’t get impeached.
Omarosa has said she will be writing a tell all, meanwhile, Trump delegates to his legal firm, and keeps working MAGA.
