WASHINGTON - The head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement wants the Justice Department to prosecute mayors and other political leaders in so-called "sanctuary cities" that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
"We need to hold these politicians accountable for their actions," Thomas Homan told Fox News. "This isn't the America I grew up in. We got to take these sanctuary cities on. We got to take them to court. And we got to start charging some of these politicians with crimes."
Such a policy would dramatically raise the stakes for immigrant-friendly cities and states that have clashed with the administration. The ACLU said Wednesday that Homan's "outrageous threat" should disqualify him from leadership of the agency that enforces immigration law.
Homan insisted that President Donald Trump shares his view.
A number of Texas cities, including Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin -- all led by Democrats -- have resisted Trump's hardline approach to immigration, prompting a state law aimed at pressuring local jurisdictions.
Leaders in those cities would presumably be targeted under Homan's approach. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo told the Houston Chronicle that the federal threat smacked of an incursion against "states' rights and local rights."

try harboring....
CA believes it gets to act like their own sovereign nation while enjoying the federal funds and other protections of being part of US.
“Definitely not the Dallas Morning News and I don’t think any others are either. Dallas is a liberal arm pit. “
Yes, and I sit here day in and day out fending off the feckless morons from Texas who think Texas $hit doesn’t stink. How long, with virtually all of it’s major cities now RAT or Mexican RAT-run, do they think it’s going to take for Texas to become California? And don’t look now but all the counties in Texas that border Mexico, are all Liberal dumps that vote RAT, and from what I can deduce from the demographics, it’s at least two counties deep north of the Rio Grande. The “out in the country $hit kickers” are going to say WTF happened when some Texican bureaucrat shows up at their door to collect their guns because the RATs have assumed one-party control. I hope it doesn’t happen, but it sure looks to me to be a sure thing in a generation or less.
Not this current Administration.
Wasn’t an invasion :) Those folks are just as much residents of Texas as anyone else now.
Sour grapes are bad for the gut :)
Half a million people on Staten Island and it’s conservative. But it’s a borough and not a city :(
There’s GOT TO be one conservative city in the country. But I can’t think of any. :(
I know Carter beat Ford there. I wonder what changed after that? An invasion? :)
Texas went GOP 23 percent in 2004 and 9 percent in 2016.
Let’s hope the trend goes back towards the 23 percent.
I want them hanged.
About damn time; I would suggest they start by arresting the whole ***DAMN California State Legislature.
Just shoot MOONBEAM and put us out of our misery.
“Sir, it is my sad duty to ask you to step aside under the orders of the President of the United States.”
Alabama National Guard, Henry Graham to Alabama Governor, George Wallace
This same quote needs to be said to all sanctuary city mayors, who are forming their own Confederacies.
I’ve said it before. Perp-walk every one of these traitors. Moonbeam, the Cal legislators, the county Sheriffs, the mayors, city counsel, police chiefs...all of them. Traitors, harboring fugitives. This is war. All of them!
never make a liberal a manager- from that point on they will only hire other liberals, until the whole organization is infested.
I was watching a great old movie “The Hunt For Red October” the other day and there was a ‘political officer’ on board who was questioning the captains politics and loyalty and what books he and his wife read... and he reminded me of TODAY’S LIBERALS.
