Land of leaving: Moving companies rank Illinois No. 1 for outbound vans
Studies by two major American moving companies rank Illinois as the top outbound state of 2017.
On Jan. 2, United Van Lines released its 41st annual National Movers Study and Atlas Van Lines released its 2017 Migration Patterns study. United based the study on its customers household moves made in 2017, and Atlas studied nearly 73,000 interstate and cross-border relocations of household goods from Jan. 1, 2017 through Dec. 15, 2017.
In both studies, Illinois was home to the highest rate of outbound moves in the nation. Uniteds study found that in 2017, 63 percent of Illinois moves were outbound rather than inbound, and Atlas found Illinois had an outbound rate of 62.4 percent.
These studies dovetail with recently released migration data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the IRS, which show Illinois is failing to attract residents.

Leaving from every place except Chicago
Maybe corrupt democrats can hire pollsters to do polls showing how 90% of people living in Illinois love their State... and how no one wants to leave...
In the mean time, Republicans will be posting pictures and statistics of people leaving the State...
To paraphrase Lt. Aldo Raine, “We’re in the business of killing productivity, and business is boomin!”
Takes me back to a scene from a Michael Moore movie three decades ago where U-Haul was charging 3 times as much for an outbound trip from Flint, Michigan as for inbound.
“Anywhere there is lower taxes ... Illinois is what happens after decades of Democrat control - big: union pensions, welfare, more spending than revenue, etc. The fix? Raise taxes ... More spending. The fix? Raise taxes - repeat until everybody leaves.”
Move just across the state line to any adjacent state and you automatically cut your real estate taxes by 50-66%. For openers.illannoy is the New Jersey of the midwest.
Is there a list of the states that is with Illinois in the top ten? Illinois citizens, please if you a liberal, stay there..if you are conservative, Florida will welcome you...and we have nice weather (mostly except for the sleet we had here this morning.)
Mayor Rahm was just on TV saying Chicago is doing great! New jobs, housing, people moving in, crime is down - he had no idea where this report got their numbers. According to the Rahmer everything is perfect in Chicago.
“There are many counties, cities, towns and villages in Illinois that hit home sellers with a tax or penalty if they do not buy another house within the same political subdivision. In my town, if I sell my house and do not buy another one in the same town I will get hit.”
How can you “get hit,” if you’ve already left?
The same picture applies to CA, NY and maybe even NJ. The large concentrations of $hit people in the major cities are able to vote the rest of the folks into involuntary servitude.
The amount is held in escrow, and you get it when you close on your new house or move into the new residence.
That map must be for the most recent election, because that is the only time in recent memory that Dupage County went blue.
Place a tax on home sales in Illinois, say X% of gross over X dollars or as a percentage of the capital gain. Probably a flat % of gross would be the easiest. This would nail the liberals retiring and moving to Florida...but also of course the conservative too. The may want to levy taxes on retirement income paid to out of state residents. It’s too bad that the government was allowed to over promise pensions. Time to pay the piper Illinois (& Connecticut, California, etc.).
“The amount is held in escrow, and you get it when you close on your new house or move into the new residence.”
That needs to be challenged in court. Because basically the “local entity” is charging you an exit tax, which my bet is that it’s unconstitutional. California tried unsuccessfully a few years back to force people who lived and worked here, but decided to move out of state to retire, to pay CA taxes on their retirement income. They ended up loosing in court.
It is the 2016 presidential. Dupage was always rock ribbed republican...as was Kane and Lake counties. That just shows the cancerous spread of Chicago “values”.
Isn’t it sickening?
Chicago “values” indeed. That city has f***ed up the state.
DuPage has benn taken over by illegals
