California's 2018 Ammo Restrictions Act as Backdoor Gun Ban
newsmax ^ | Jan 02, 2018 | John Cylc

This morning on Facebook, I saw a post from a Walmart store stating that due to administrative delays by the state of California, they are temporarily unable to sell ammunition.

On January 1, a new California law took effect requiring all ammunition to only be sold in person, and only through a licensed vendor. The law required the Department of Justice to implement new regulations before July 2017. However, those regulations were delayed and will likely not take effect until mid-January at the earliest. That means there is now a gap in which law-abiding citizens cannot buy ammunition from many California vendors. Their Second Amendment rights have been restricted by the state. The “right to keep and bear arms” means nothing without ammo. That is a “backdoor” gun ban. That is called “tyranny,” even if it is only temporary and due to bureaucratic incompetency.

This now appears to be the method that liberals will use to attack our inherent natural rights that they oppose. California has written and passed law after law restricting gun rights for its law-abiding citizens. The state government, politicians, and liberal voters have somehow failed to comprehend that these laws will have no effect on criminals who ignore them anyway.

Murderers, robbers, terrorists, and other miscreants will still use their illegal and illicit methods of getting guns and ammo. In the meantime, the “good guys with guns” will be fighting bureaucratic battles and anti-gun administrators.

In one county with a population of over 10 million, only 197 citizens have been issued concealed carry.

Counting the days until the people of Cali have had enough and revolt just like in Iran right now.

It's not going to happen. Some scattered peaceful demonstrations by a few gun groups, maybe. But active violence?... no. Bellies are too full.

NYC was using its own agents to try and make straw purchases, which are illegal in the states where the dealers were operating, IIRC.

And how does that work exactly? Last I heard, the US AG was not working for Moonbeam.

Let’s call it what it is: California is in open rebellion against the United States. Time to decertify it’s statehood, install a military governor and restore their government to serve the people.

NO, I say it is way past time to let them have their secession vote in 2018 and we start building a western border wall on ARIZONA property.

police post that SEARCHES incoming cars, with the intent of confiscating fruits and veggie

That is simply not true. As you drive through they ask you if you have any fruits, etc. That’s about it. A simple no and you’re on your way. I’ve been through it many, many times.

“Every California highway border crossing has a police post that SEARCHES incoming cars, with the intent of confiscating fruits and veggies that could contaminate their agriculture. They have been getting away with it for 80 years, that I know of. I would imagine that prohibition would now extend to any white, US citizens, who have purchased ammunition...
Nuke Sacramento from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”

Not true. They are agricultural inspection stations (not manned by the police) and the vast majority of the time they are closed or just wave you through. You would have to been seen possessing fruits and vegetables to be pulled over for inspection.

Federal law allows me, as a non-CA resident, to traverse the State in possession of my firearm and ammo. Correct? So what if I were to “accidentally” leave some behind, and pick up some “found” cash?

Not sure. Not a lawyer. But you should practice your boat accident story to go a long with your absent minded luck story should you be stopped and questioned.

I left CA in 1979. Smartest thing I ever did.

I married a Ventura Co girl in 2010. Thousand Oaks. My clients are in Paso Robles....both are Reagan country..staunch Republicans.

Her entire family was out there in 2008. Mother/Father, Sister/BIL, 7 aunts and uncles, a dozen 1st Cousins in El Cajon, San Diego, Temecula, Anza, Downey, Templton, Atascadero, Thousand Oaks, Newberry Park, Ojai, SLO etc.

Fast forward to 2018: Sister/BIL live in CDA, ID, 5 of the 7 uncles live in CO, 9 of the 12 first cousins live in ID, CO, WA, and WY.

Her parents are fixing up their home to sell in 2018 and move to Walker Valley or Smith Valley, NV.

Everyone mentioned above had good jobs, cops, firefighters, contractors, IT, management, accountants, etc.....All gone by 2018. Amazing to watch.

When I visit, I am CONSTANTLY told, "You can't do that here", "That is illegal in CA", "Its a huge fine". Seriously, I hear it three times a day from my inlaws when I am out there for a week. It truly is another country. I feel CLEAN when I leave CA and return to the United States.

It's CA. At this point, anyone still living there is asking for it.

Yep. See my post above. My wife's entire CA clan is evacuating.....or has already.

My FIL has, for the last 10 years been driving out to AR to see his daughter, my wife. Every time he comes, he asks to store his guns at my house. A couple of years ago, he comes out and we have to go buy HIS OWN SAFE to store his guns at my house....I guess that is the best answer since he is the only one with access now.

Last year he told me to drive out and bring him ammo.....I told him no...time to pull up stakes and move to a free state. Today he is painting the bedroom in order to list it this Spring.

The last time I entered Kali, which, I will grant, was in 1976, I was driving a Triumph Spitfire, with Illinois plates, and there was barely enough room for an overnight bag. They had me open the trunk, regardless. They seemed somewhat put out that I wasn't smuggling cabbages, or whatever they were hunting for.

Left San Diego county in `82. I figured it was no place for a conservative. Never looked back.
California really was golden. It was the `opinion leader’ state—first in education, many other categories, and today it is going away leader in contributions to Free Republic.

It’s a damned shame. IMHO the `86 amnesty is the reason and things won’t improve until Jeff Sessions gets off his *** and the DOJ starts enforcing our immigration laws against tyrants like Brown. Illegals and liberals have degraded the Golden state to what it is today.

“It breaks my heart to see what’s happening to California. It truly was the promised land. You have my sympathies trying to defend your noble state. If you could only cut those relatively small cancerous city states away.”

Just hoping that Trump really does come down on the sanctuary cities, and sues Brown & Co, for a gaggle of their unconstitutional laws. With all it’s political problems, it’s still a wonderful place to live. And these detractors are living in LA LA land if they think where they live is immune to what’s happened here.

I lived in New Hampshire when it was one of the most conservative states in America. It turned Left because of Massachusetts people fleeing the high taxes and bringing their values with them. Millions of liberals moving to California must not have helped things there.

They were probably looking for medfly...

some of the inspection checkpoints have been outfitted with license plate scanners and driver cameras...btw last summer I crossed over near parker. There was some unusual slowdown and the CHP seemed to be running the checkpoint. I saw a guy ahead directed to the side. After I passed (with no hassles, just a waveoff) i looked in the r/w mirror and saw CHP running k9 around a truck whilst the driver sat on the ground with his hands behind his head.

Many times people say stupid things on FR and it gets embarrasing at times. I’m with you as it does get old. I was born here and may leave someday once my mom passes, but until then, I’m staying.

I’m certainly not asking for “it,” whatever “it” is.
