Egypt’s chief prosecutor is opening a criminal investigation into an article published by The New York Times.

On Wednesday, an Egyptian lawmaker said the media company is at war with the country.

This comes after the media organization published an article quoting an Egyptian intelligence officer pushing talk show hosts and celebrities to make people accept President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem.

They used leaked audio recordings of the officer instructing them to downplay the news.

Now, The New York Times is accused of publishing false news to purposefully stir up unrest.

At least 17 residents are dead and 13 more are missing after devastating weather descended on southern California’s coast.

Some California residents are allowed to return home to neighborhoods destroyed by flash floods and mudslides.

With the death toll still rising along the coast, more than 500 responders were on the scene looking for survivors.

On Tuesday, three people were rescued and several bodies were recovered.

In a neighborhood threatened by fire just a month ago, residents in Montecito are worried about lives lost in the deadly storm.
