It's been below freezing constantly since Christmas Eve and the 10 day forecast shows high temperatures staying below freezing with some below zero nights (including tonight). Possible snowstorm later this week.
I am dreading getting on the train platform Tuesday to go back to work. Normally the cold doesn't bother me too much but standing on the train platform in pitch darkness at 6am in a business suit is about the coldest experience you can have!
One of the guys I ride the train with says he wears women's pantyhose on subzero mornings with his business suit. He wears regular black socks over his feet so nobody notices. Says it keeps him warm. Says Joe Namath wore pantyhose on cold days when he played for the Jets. I'm not sure I want to go that route but it's going to be very cold on that train platform!
Duofold long underwear - the kind with a layer of wool.
Better get out your super-duper LL Bean severe-weather long hooded-coat and Bean boots. Bring your "up-town" shoes in a carry bag.
Biker cold weather riding-pants or chaps might be helpful too.
“Joe Namath wore pantyhose on cold days ,,,”
He probably wound up wearing them on his head some nights.
What about under armour long johns under your suit, would that work? Also dont you wear those huge Trump like winter coats over everything?
