The Memphis City Council has ordered the removal of the NB Forrest Statue that sits on top of the graves of General and Mrs. NB Forrest. This action breaks several laws and the order of the State for Memphis to not make any action toward the historical monument and grave site.
Erasing history wounds all heals.
I suspect they will get away with it, just as California gets away with pretending it is a country unto itself.
How about removing the Memphis City Council instead?
Will the statue,or statues,be going to a museum?

Please correct me if I’m wrong. Maybe there is a prime gravestone besides a fancy statue?
Once all the signs of the Confederacy have been removed and destroyed, it will mean there was no such thing as slavery...

I have a solution to all of this. History now only lasts 18 months.
Time to repeat some forgotten history?
It will make the Memphis City Council feel better about themselves. What other outstanding accomplishments can it claim?

Maybe shut up? Is that too much to hope for? Oh! I’m sure they will come up with something. The democrats are working on that scenario already - they can’t leave their indoctrinated voters in the lurch!
I don’t claim what the South did was right. There are some decent arguments concerning State’s Rights though.
Whether we all agree with what took place or not, the fact is many of these Civil War men served with honor against us.
I have no problem with them honoring their war dead.

Which is why so-called conservatives need to get up their fat, useless, Mammon-worshipping asses and participate in local and county governments.
Had they done so, they would have elected a pro-2nd amendment, Constitutional sheriff. A sheriff has the legal and armed muscle to confront fascist cops. It’s that simple.
I have a constitutional sheriff in my county, and he’s run two police chiefs out of the county who abused their power.

When will the citizens of Memphis have a chance to vote these people out of office?
If Hillary were prez the headline would have read: US Military Schools Ban Study of Confederate Generals Lee, Stonewall and Forrest’s battle tactics.
My impression of Memphis, at least of the parts I’ve seen when driving through, is that it is something of a hell hole. Hopefully there are nicer areas there, too, but “ghetto” comes to mind...
