DENVER -- Colorado is raising its minimum wage again in 2018 to $10.20 an hour.
The increase is part of a constitutional requirement voters approved in 2016. It will be $12 an hour by 2020.
...
not everyone is pleased with the hike.
"I think we are going to see more and more restaurants use technology because it cuts down on costs -- your computer is not going to call in sick," said Sonia Riggs, president of the Colorado Restaurant Association.
Riggs said most restaurants don't make much profit, and another sharp increase is resulting in potential menu increases and staff cuts.
...
customers are going to see a combination of things, from increased prices to reduction in staff

“Thanks to libs, restaurants will begin morphing into glorified vending machines.”
yep, could be heading back to the automat days.
i’m surprised the espresso industry hasn’t yet completed the automation of espresso makers by adding a money taker to it and turning it around so its simplified controls face the customer ... they could probably even sell more espresso that way by installing multiple machines and reducing prices since labor costs would be nearly eliminated ...
“I hope the cost of their weed doesnt go up.”
labor problem there could be easily solved using automat machines to dispense pot ...
Coloradans suck.
><
Nebraska is full of fags.
“Coloradans suck. Most of them, being narcissistic, tree-hugging, doped-up morons”
just the ones in the hand-full of urban counties. Colorado is like the rest of the nation: all but a few counties are rural and vote red but the urbanites you describe outvote the rest of us. We were actually fine until California libs shit in their own nest and moved here like locusts moving on to ravage new territory ...
“Minimum wage” is the modern manifestation of “debtor’s prison”: if you can’t earn enough, you’re not allowed to earn anything at all.
“I want to know where you get that gray, tasteless hamburger meat, and the 23 chemical ingredients McDonalds puts in their fries?”
the thing is, there’s much better food than trying to re-create junk-food recipes.
tonight, for example, i’ll be serving wild-caught Patagonia shrimp gently sauteed in butter with garlic, and served over a small amount of Jim Dandy grits cooked in chicken stock in which a finely chopped fresh onion has just been simmered, with lots of butter added, and a bit of fresh ground Tellicherry black pepper.
Chain migration from Kalefornia?
See, there’s no need for a federal minimum wage. If states want to commit economic suicide, who cares?
C’mon! I love Mickey D’s cheeseburgers!

You’re exactly right.
You are what you eat! There’s so much non-meat in their meat that I’d worry about getting dry rot from eating it.
I’ve gotta admit that the only places to which I have had the unfortunate “need” to visit are the metro areas. And the great majority of individuals populating those have provided the worst impression possible. A total freak show. Since Colorado legalized marijuana, we’ve seen a spike in drug-related crimes, including murder, here in rural Nebraska - and the majority of these incidents usually involves some idiot from Colorado.
Another irritating and dangerous issue is the vehicular traffic coming through Nebraska from Colorado. The drivers act like privileged a-holes, who see no need to obey our traffic laws. Most of them act as though they believe “civilization” ends at the Colorado border - and that Nebraska is the “wild west,” where they may just do whatever they damn well please! They are usually, but not always, illegals, who are either drunk or on dope. Their actions waste a large sum of Nebraskans’ tax dollars, because of the constant OT our state troopers need to work, for drug and sex-trafficking interdiction efforts.
The bottom line is that I am hating what Colorado is getting away with out here.
Yeah - and they all migrated here from Denver, because they like humping our cattle.
Hey! It’s good fur ya! :)
Dinner at catnipman's house!
Public school taught him how to balance his checkbook but didnt even touch general economics.”””
I have yet to hear of one single public school that is teaching any kid about a checkbook.
2 grandchildren of neighbor know nothing about any of that & they are both ‘smart’.
I am a life long bookkeeper/accounting person & I offered to teach them how to do it. Grandma & Grandpa were delighted.
Crickets from the kids. One is a year away from being out of school. I don’t think his dad can afford to send him to college, either.

Lol
You’ve got them now.
Two cheese burgers are only about $2.60
...and the liberal arts-educated Millennials who work at fast food restaurants, who voted for the raise, get to pay the price for their misbegotten activism. How Darwinian...
“I have yet to have a good meal there”
I haven’t had a good meal in a restaurant since I got back to the States in 2006.
I did make myself Steak Oscar a couple of months ago, though.
Mmmmmm, Bearnaise, crab, asparagus, tenderloin...
I really hate the current fashion of making hamburger patties thick and burning the outside black.
