Top Republicans are stepping up their criticism of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, even suggesting he should be ousted amid allegations conflicts of interest and anti-Trump political prejudice at the agency.
Andrew McCabe cuts across every facet of every investigation in 2016 that your viewers are interested in from Secretary [Hillary] Clintons emails to the investigation into the Trump campaign, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., a member of the House Judiciary Committee, told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" on Tuesday.
A day earlier, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley told reporters that McCabe should be fired. And Ive said that before and Ive said it to people who can do it, he said.
But Grassley, R-Iowa, added that doesnt mean President Trump should get involved.
Trump ought to stay out of it. I think its a Christopher Wray job, Grassley reportedly said.
McCabe is expected to testify Tuesday afternoon in a closed-door hearing before the House Intelligence Committee as part of its investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Should be an open meeting and they should grill him hard - go 3rd degree on his azz - on the “insurance plan” plot against POTUS that was devised in his office (if not *by* his office).
Gowdy forgot the Vegas Massacre.
Thank you, mojito!
“Fired” is simply not enough to stop the on-going “soft coup” or to prevent things like this from happening again.
I prefer words like Empanel and Grand Jury and Indictment and Arraignment and Perp Walk and Trial and Conviction and Incarceration. Perhaps I should add “Cigarette?” and “Blindfold?” to my list as well.
Love the chart Travis. Looks like a plot outline for your next novel.
McCabe should have been fired before Weasel Comey.
Closed door... Why not do an ‘open’ door hearing... Let it all hang out there and ask him how much time during the day he spends worshiping a picture of Hillary in his office where a picture of President Trump should be hanging?
Laura Ingraham stated on her show last night that new FBI director Wray’s refusal to discipline McCabe this far into his tenure is bringing Wray’s credibility into the picture. She didn’t mention Wray’s longtime associations with Comey and the like, but I would bet that she, and others, are aware of them.
“Perhaps I should add Cigarette? and Blindfold? to my list as well.”
I prefer Trials and Hangings.
On the Capitol Steps.
Just bear in mind that they are federal employees, and a deputy director is different than the top guy. Unless you want to see a huge pile of taxpayer money handed over to scumbag McCabe as settlement of a wrongful termination lawsuit, it’s got to be done by the book. He might resign, but it also may have to wait until the recommendations from the IG come out before action can be taken against him. Just “everyone thinks you’re an anti-Trump scumbag and crook” isn’t good enough. They have to have an iron-clad case that will stand up in court.
So did he show up to testify? Has anything leaked out yet? Or does Adam Schiff only take frequent ‘bathroom breaks’ when witnesses friendly to President Trump testify?
Oh. Laura is smarter than that, she’s just trolling for ratings with comments like that. She heard Director Wray say right in public session that he was going to wait for the IG’s report. That’s the reason the IG exists, to investigate allegations of wrongdoing by DOJ/FBI employees, and that’s exactly what he’s going. Every move McCabe makes is being watched.
Yesterday the intel cmte forgot to announce they’d rescheduled Ohr and FBN ran with him being a no-show, which was quite the lather-up here. Maybe their secretary already went on Christmas break.
If it gets his @ss out of there pronto, it’s an expense I’m willing to bear.
Point is, it won’t happen til it’s time. Until then, more evidence to be used against him = more time in Leavenworth.
If it is an open meeting the slime will play the “not in this setting” game that Wray played last week.
Congress needs to invite Wray and Rosenstein back for separate closed door sessions where they are pressed on the dirty dossier - FISA Court question again. If they demure then Trump needs to instruct Sessions, Rosenstein and Wray to instruct their employees to fully cooperate with congressional investigators with firings being the end result of uncooperative public servants. Right up the line until you find an honest one in the bunch.
Did Ohr ever show-up for his scheduled time before the closed door meeting? He is begging for a contempt of congress indictment that will likely be sustained by the full house. Then it’s time to send the sergeant at Arms out to arrest the dirt bag.
5 will get you 10 he’ll take the 5th.
Take the 5th and use an impenetrable barrier of 5 minute weasel-word filibusters to burn each questioners time.
