Colorado Democrats have renamed their annual “Jefferson Jackson Dinner” the “Obama Dinner” to honor the legacy of the 44th president and his wife.
Barack and Michelle Obama are the ones that the Colorado Democratic Party has been waiting for — to usurp a fundraising event named after the third and seventh U.S. presidents, respectively.
Party spokesman Eric Walker had two words for critics of the decision: “Damn right.”

The selection of Tom Perez as DNC chair over Ellison highlighted a real issue for blacks, and one that will enshrine Obama in Dem lore forever: Since Dems have to appease the more-numerous Hispanics, it must be done in such a way that it doesn’t turn off the reliable low-information black base - and the easiest way to do so is to endlessly praise the Kenyan Pirate. Didn’t work for Hillary in Pennsylvania, but they had to try; black voters in some key states denied her the White House, and Dems have to prevent a repeat of that fiasco.
