The House will vote on major tax reform legislation on Tuesday, Republican aides told the Washington Examiner.
The House Rules Committee, which sets the terms of the debate, including whether to allow amendments, will meet Monday on the legislation.
The vote timing suggests GOP leaders are confident they have the numbers to pass the legislation, which then heads to the Senate for consideration "likely Tuesday," according to Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas.

I shudder to think what would happen if this bill didn’t become law.
Having a "boo-boo" didn't prevent him from putting on a show with the cast on his right leg — or wait, was it his left leg? Oh, that's right. The leg cast kept shifting from one side to the other like Igor's hump.
McQueeg had a chance to leave on a note of magnanimity, yet he chose to skulk off into the dark night, one last FU to the American people.
If McCain were sincere and his story didn’t defy logic, he would’ve resigned when he returned home. I’ve never believed the whole thing about him near-death. The timing is always way too convenient.
I don’t think McCain will be returning to Washington.
Why didn’t the House and Senate Vote for it during a rushed midnight Session on Friday like the Rats did with Obamacare?
I shudder to think what would happen if this bill didnt become law.

If the Senate doesnt successfully pass this conference bill version, the House should simply vote on and pass the Senate version they got earlier and forward to President Trump for signature.
eff the McConnell Senate and its grandstanding RINOs!
I’ve delayed moving some IRA funds to my checking account in hopes of getting a lower tax rate in January. Republican congresscritters had better vote for this tax bill!
Then he should for once in his life do the correct thing and resign.
Works for me. Good suggestion.
that would be some ugly hours in the stock market!
I think so too.
However, it is a drop in the bucket when compared to my Obamacare insurance premiums which jumped 56% this time.
So who cares about the taxes; I am only concerned about the repeal of the Obamcare mandate. Then we will be allowed to shop around on the free market for the best insurance value.
My only concern is that Obamacare destroyed the insurance industry and it will be impossible to find insurance other than the crappy worthless rip-off insurance from the exchanges.
that’s completely unfair. McCain voted for this tax reform when it counted, in the Senate the first time around, and his vote was important. This week his vote is not needed, it’s going to pass anyway, and the man has a type of cancer that is wildly aggressive and has huge costs on functioning.
I don’t think he’ll live much longer, and that your comments are unnecessarily harsh.

I intend 2 vote no on tax bill. Due 2 pressure of several members like me, bill was improved, but not enough for a significant # of my constituents.

It passed without him on the first vote, it will pass without him this time. I don’t fault him, as he is representing his constituents, many of whom will see their taxes raised by this bill. Hopefully, they will benefit more from the economic growth resulting from the plan than they pay in increased taxes...
