RUSH: Oh, by the way, you heard the latest? While all the news on the terrorist was being uncovered and reported yesterday, you know what CNN was doing? Reporting on how many Diet Cokes a day Trump drinks. And they even got their in-house doctor, Sanjay Gupta in there to explain how this can lead to dementia. Im not kidding. You want to hear those bites? Ive got em here. Lets start with audio sound bite number 13. The indefatigable Brooke Baldwin worried about the Diet Coke consumption of Donald Trump. Shes talking here with gastroenterologist Dr. Samantha Nazareth.
BALDWIN: Its one thing to say 12 Diet Cokes, 12 Diet Cokes, right? If were saying, according to The Times, that he drinks this many, what does this do to the brain and the body every day. What does 12 do to you?
NAZARETH: What happens with 12 is that this essentially replaces what other liquids will provide to your body. So your body, as you know, is mainly water. The good majority of your body is water. Your body needs water to survive to do everything, to speak, to be on TV, everything. And by you drinking this, its essentially replacing that area in your body
BALDWIN: Its dehydrating.
NAZARETH: Not necessarily dehydrating but its replacing a liquid that you can take, which is water. You should be drinking water, not this.
RUSH: Oh, gee. Now, here we go with the parentalism. (imitating Nazareth) He should be drinking water, not these. Twelve Diet Cokes are replacing the other hydration he would normally be drinking and its just not good. Its not good. But they dont tell us why, you just shouldnt do it.
I know a guy who drinks 15 a day of the giant gulp things. First thing he does waking up in the morning before combing his hair or anything. He gets in the SUV and heads to the nearest, you know, one of those massive gas station places and gets a giant 72-ounce big gulp of Diet Coke. And its gone by the time he gets home. Drives home, hes sucking on the straw the whole time driving home. When he gets home he has to go back and get another one.
You would think he just ordered two of the giant 72-ouncers. This guy goes so far beyond 12 Diet Cokes a day. But were not through, here. Brooke Baldwin continued the medical discussion. Remember, while this is happening, there is breaking news about the terrorist attack in New York. This is about 8:45 a.m. yesterday, and here we go the continuation
BALDWIN: Is this doing anything super-crazy harmful or is it just mean and Im not getting enough water? Is this doing anything to your bladder, your kidneys?
NAZARETH: Not necessarily. The behaviors that are associated with drinking diet soda, people think that, If I drink diet soda, can I have that piece of cake now? Can I be able to do all these other things that
RUSH: Where do they find these guests?
NAZARETH: if I have regular soda maybe have to stay away from all these sweets and everything else that may not be so healthy?
RUSH: Where do they find these guests? I mean, this is a gastroenterologist. Look, I drink Diet Coke but its not so that I can have a piece of cake. I dont drink Diet Coke calculating calorie intake. I just happen to like it, and I have about four or five of them a day, after the program and on the golf course. But this idea! This is so cliched. Yes, people think that if I drink diet soda, can I have that piece of cake now? Can I be able to do all these other things that if I have regular soda maybe have to stay away from all these sweets and everything else that may not be so healthy?
You know, these people cant have it both ways. They run around and tell us that sugar is gonna kill us, that caffeines gonna kill us, that oat brans gonna kill us (or alternately save us). Every day its some new health threat with a substance thats natural and normal that everybody consumes, and then a couple of weeks or couple years later, Ugh! We were wrong. This actually is not bad for you. Caffeine may actually help prevent Parkinsons disease, they tell you.
Anyway, after telling everybody to avoid sugar because of diabetes and calories and rotting teeth, then when people do it, they come along and claim that its unhealthy. Its just not good. They cant tell you why. So I guess Brooke Baldwin was not satisfied. CNN was not satisfied with the answers they got there from the gastroenterologist, Dr. Samantha Nazareth. So last night, CNN called in Don Lemon, who then called in chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta about a report that Trump drinks 12 Diet Cokes a day. Don Lemon said, What does that do to you?
GUPTA: Thats a lot of caffeine! We dont know if he takes other sources of caffeine. It causes a lot of irritability, insomnia. Sometimes you become more unfocused when youre drinking that much caffeine.
LEMON: Theres a study released this last year researchers from Boston University School of Medicine found that people who drank one diet soda per take were three times as likely to be diagnosed with dementia or suffer from a stroke.
GUPTA: You tripled, actually, the risk of dementia and stroke linked to diet soda. Is there something about a diet drink, the aspartame or something thats causing this problem? They dont know still. Could it be the people who are more risk for stroke and dementia also drink diet sodas?
RUSH: They dont know! You dont know anything! Youre just wildly speculating based on a premise that you think Trump is insane, and so now the Diet Cokes You learn that he drinks 12 a day, so you conclude that its the Diet Cokes that are causing Trump to be insane, cause youve already accepted that Trumps insane. Now you think youve got a reason. And these are scientists! This is the same kind of thinking that gives us hoax-oriented global warming theory and climate change theory. (impression) I mean, youve tripled actually the risk of dementia and stroke linked to diet soda!
And then in the next sentence: Is there something about a diet drink thats causing the problem? We dont know. Well, if you dont know Its kind of like if there hasnt been any proof that the Russians hacked anything, then how can you say Trump colluded with them? So if you believe that Diet Coke leads to dementia or stroke but you dont know why, then how can you make the claim? By the way, how widespread is the claim that Diet Coke consumption causes dementia or stroke? Trump is 71 years old, and hes healthier than most of the people covering him.
Hes got more energy than most of the people covering him. Hes got more mental acuity. Hes more intelligent, he knows more he simply has absorbed more knowledge than most of those covering him. And jacked up on caffeine? I dont know. Look, the caffeine content of Diet Coke, I cant attest to. Everythings personal. I cant attest caffeine doesnt affect me at all. If it does, Im not aware of it. Nothing I do because of the caffeine hit is based on it. There isnt one, as far as I know. So this is the kind of stuff, folks this is the kind of irresponsibility that could lead to Diet Coke being taken off the market.
I mean, these people are so crazy that if they want to use Diet Coke and 12 cans of it a day to prove that Trump has got dementia, is gonna have dementia, gonna get dementia, gonna have a stroke or has had a stroke, then thats how they would lead to getting Diet Coke off the market. And it would all be to further establish the connection to Trumps insanity and dementia and whatever else they claim he is to his Diet Coke consumption.
Did CNN ever do any stories on how much damage to the brain smoking a few joints a day as a teenager or college student could do? We know that Obama was part of a chum gang, churn gang, choom whatever. He smoked marijuana with his buddies. There have been reports that hes gone back to it since leaving the Oval Orifice. Did CNN ever do any stories on the consumption of joints and marijuana? Of course not because if Obama does it, its wonderful. If Obama does it, its great. If Obama does it, no harm can come from it.
Is Coke a sponsor on CNN ? LOL
But doing lines of coke is a liberal pastime
CNN:
Trump is a very successful business man.
I laugh at the network’s perception of his success.
The other day they tried to make it look like he watched TV all day.
Hint to the network execs, folks, you don’t achieve what Trump has watching TV.
The man has worked long hard hours paying attention to the bottom line.
Who knew?
As for this diet Coke joke, what in the sam hell has gotten into you folks? You’re the consummate fools of the nation.
lolol
CNN doesn’t fact check anything. Tell CNN it was Donald Trump that pissed on Chelsea Handler.
President Trump should tweet a picture of himself with a Big Mac, a filet-o-fish, a half eaten McRib, french frys, and a big giant half empty bottle of water, along with his trademark smiling happy face.
Reporter: "What's the largest ingredient in Diet Coke?"
Doctor: "Water"
Reporter: "You heard it here first, Diet Coke is mostly water."
Looks like those two women are selling something other than Diet Coke.
I wouldn’t know since I don’t watch FNN (The Fake News Network)
CNN seems to be self-destructive with fake news reporting.
A thread from a couple days ago with over a 100 comments if anyone cares to scan thru them.
Keep in mind that opening 12 cokes doesn’t mean he drinks all of them. My guess is with his
movements, etc he opens one, drinks some, sets it down and it is on to another cold one a little later.

Good. Maybe they’ll drop to less than 500,000 idiots watching instead of 800,000 or so.
They want to make it an impeachable offense to drink Diet Coke.
Banning of diet soda or frowning on it is largely a liberal thing, IMO. Conservatives may or may not like it, but they mostly figure it is your business.
I was drinking 6-12 Coke Zeroes a day for going on 20 years, but I stopped completely, not for health reasons, but because I didn't want any more of my money going to Coca Cola.
I saw this Coke commercial a few months back and was so nauseated by it I just could not buy any more of their product. This is a picture of the teenage boy in the family looking at the Pool Boy cleaning the pool.
I did find out it is somewhat difficult to use alternatives, because there are so many beverage products bottled by Coca Cola that have different brand names, but...I get by. If I go to a restaurant, sometimes the only diet drink they serve is diet coke, and that is it.
At work, though, I have plastic bottles I fill with filtered water from a cooler and add lemon juice from concentrate with a few squirts of liquid Splenda. I go through about three a day, and that is an adequate substitute for work, at home I just drink generic diet soda. I can live with that.
Exactly...99.9999% of a diet coke is just water. Leave it to the libs to go hysterical over carbonated water.
Isn’t that a high crime or misdemeanor?
I’ve forgotten. LOL
