Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) signaled on Tuesday that the winner of the Alabama Senate special election will not be sworn in before the Senate wraps up its work for the year.
"Sen. Strange is going to be here through the end of this session," McConnell told reporters, referring to Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.), when asked about the Senate race's impact on the timeline for tax reform.
Senators want to wrap up their work for the year next week, which would mean McConnell would be able to depend on Strange's vote on tax reform and funding the government.

The only thing I want to hear out of that gasbag, is when he plans to introduce all the items on Trump’s agenda, and ram them through for we the people.
While this is okay, it makes up for NOTHING!
Get off your bleep’n ass McConnell!

Same thing Dirty Harry did to Scott Brown during the run up to the ObamaCare vote...he refused to seat him until after the vote.Brown's “no” vote would have killed ObamaCare while the hack that the Rat Massachusetts Governor appointed was an obedient “yes” vote. The deciding vote!

McDorkell needs time to get more “spine preventative” solution to drink before trying to deal with Moore, should Alabama elect him.

Sounds like Sen. Moore should take that up with SCOTUS.
Marbury v. Madison 2.0, anybody?
To: vette6387
Just where does he get that authority? They're just talking about a week - the session ends a week from Friday. According to the article it'll take the Mississippi Secretary of State longer than that to certify the results and declare an official winner. Moore will be sworn in come January.

Oh, so it’s not okay.
Man this guy is a bleep’n a hole.

After some actual thought... “:^) ...it may be best just in case. I’d hate to see a new Democrat in the Senate block some of our agenda.
Looks like I owe Mitch an apology. Sorry Mitch.
Now! Get to work you worthless a hole!

Nancy told him to do it ,LOL

It’s to prevent recess appointments. Moore would not vote for unanimous consent. If the Senate were to recess Trump could get all his people in place instead of these endless delaying tactics .
