Swiss government: Trump’s Jerusalem policy is an 'obstacle to peace'

The recognition by the US of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is “an obstacle to a fair and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians based on a negotiated two-state solution”, the Swiss government said.

Reacting to US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Wednesday, the Swiss foreign office said any solution in the Middle East must be based on “a comprehensive negotiated agreement on the final status of Jerusalem that respects the rights and aspirations of all interested parties”.

“Switzerland does not recognize the authority of Israel beyond the 1967 borders and will work towards the establishment of a viable, contiguous and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as capital and based on the 1967 borders,” the Swiss government said. …

That’s not their home any more than Israel is. Even Zuheir Mohsen admitted that back in 1977 by pointing out that as soon as they had taken over “all of Palestine” (all of Israel), they intended to annex Jordan. (And that’s after he claimed there were “no difference[s] between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese”, even though there are; he clearly delineated the difference by repeating the different name, which means he was thinking in pan-Arab terms.)

The obsession with “1967 borders” must have an explanation. Does anybody know what it is?

Biggest mistake the Israelis ever made was going along with the UN. After the 6 Day War, they should have *ANNEXED* the West Bank and Golan, making the territory part of Israel proper (not so sure about Gaza: they probably should have returned it to Egypt at Camp David).

This was Trump’s “tear down this wall” moment.

And of course it upsets the status quo apostles to whom “process” is everything.

No matter how many lifetimes and bodies it takes.

They are not borders; they are armistice lines. And what is so “special” about them is that they are not defensible by Israel, of course.

Remember what the Word said about the world hating you.

John 13:18

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me.

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason."

“For “peace” to happen, Palestinians would have to have it all and all the Jews be killed”

Or vice versa. The Jews of Israel are in a kill or be killed situation, I cannot comprehend why they keep blathering on about “UN resolutions” and “international community/international law”.

They have to expel or kill the Arabs or they are all going to die. It’s not complicated.

Biggest mistake the US ever made was creating the UN, but of course that was Alger Hiss’ baby, all in his control; and he goes and uses the 1936 USSR constitution as a model for the UN charter.

Earth to Swiss government!

It is not Trump’s policy, it is the policy established by the Congress of the USA in 1995 and reaffirmed as recently as July 2017 on where the Capital of Israel is located and where the USA embassy should be located.

Our system of government has checks and balances. The Executive branch (now Trump Administration) is to implement faithfully the laws passed by Congress.

We finally have a President who is a leader and understands how to run the Executive branch of government, unlike many previous Presidents sine the original law was passed in 1995.

If the Swiss are unhappy, blame Congress, not President Trump.

Maybe we should put the US Embassy to Switzerland in Lake Zurich Illinois? Has a nice ring to it, property is cheaper.

Jordan is not the home of the “Palestinians”. The Arabs that call themselves “Palestinian” came from elsewhere, mostly Egypt and Iraq.

I don’t find Congress to “blame” for aught in this respect either.

The Swiss government here are admitting their antisemitism, and that’s what this is about.

Furthermore, the PLO was founded specifically for the purpose of eliminating Israel (genocide), not to set up Jordan as the “Palestinian” homeland one bit.

Jordan is of course the homeland of Moabites and Ammonites, i.e. Lot’s descendants; they’re still there today even though they identify as Arabs, but they are not Ishmaelite as the “Palestinians” are.

The Swiss? The Swiss?

What do you Swiss assholes care about that for? You didn’t even have the moral clarity necessary to declare war on Nazi Germany in the final months of the war, when it was obvious that Germany would lose and that you would face no threat.

Besides, I have not heard, read or seen any explanation of how Israel is supposed to make peace with a bunch of people who’s opening negotiating position is that all Jewish Israelis have to leave or die, and who continue to teach their children how to hate and kill Jews. Peace with such people is absolutely impossible, so why bother appeasing them, and buying into their fairy tales?

You Swiss assholes should go back down into your Vault and count all of your stolen gold. You want to be considered neutral, fine, then stay the hell out of politics outside of your own country.
