I lived in Jerusalem, Israel, for two happy years, and much of my work ever since has involved U.S.-Israel relations. I should know better, yet still I am surprised at the rending of garments and apocalyptic predictions pouring forth from western pundits over something that will not change a single stone in the holy city, or a single persons access to its holy sites, or a single borderand that overwhelming majorities of Congress and virtually every president and presidential candidate has endorsed for decades. Chalk it up in part to the hysteria that has characterized our political debates in the past two years, and also in part to the enormous influence that former Obama administration officials have in setting media narratives and frames for covering issues on which the current president repudiates the approach of the previous one. So here are some notes of calm, in no particular order:

"Oh No!"
"Oh No!"
"Oh No!"
"That cannot possibly work."
Headshake.
The past does not predict the future. Accurate assessment of reality is essential. So, here we are.
It is time for thinking out of the box of the past.
Donald Trump did it differently this time and broke from the ranks of the political insiders.
Its good to support Israel this way.
Three cheers for Donald J. Trump on this move.
Did you see that idiot Tom Friedman? He said Trump gave up a bargaining chip. Did Tom write the Art of the Deal? I dont think so.
Are you kidding?
This is a catastrophe!
Stirring up the muslims over a refusal to submit to them will force the pundits to address the validity of their Islam is peace doctrine, and that is just UNACCEPTABLE !
Muzzies are always mad. They wake up mad. Their first thought is “how many Jews can I kill today?” This won’t make them madder, but the media will use it to excuse the savagery.

We must stay the course.
Opps. I was thinking the wrong thread.
CBS headline, “international outrage!!”
My now X-son-in-law once gave me a copy of Tom Friedman’s “The World is Flat”.
It was total Globalist crap.
Trump is the right man for the time. He knows how to cut through the nonsense and make good decisions.
The Left will never get over hating him.
So be it.
Some countries in the Middle East actually side with us. Not out of ideology, but out of practical survival.
This does a good job of blowing the nonsense smoke away.
Well, what should we expect? From CBS?
Now he has a new one: Thank You for Being Late. Some tripe about the age of acceleration. I hope you dont get it for Christmas.
No, I buy books. Not so many lately. Few people give me books because most of my family know my interests, smile.
The arguments against are irrelevant
The moving of the embassy has been decreed and is in process.
Spot on sentence from the column:
“The United States cannot allow Middle Eastern rent-a-mobs to exercise a veto over our foreign policy.”
It actually doesn’t matter what the MSM or Europe thinks about this. Jerusalem was made the Capital of Israel by a much higher Power.
Absolutely correct.
Yes. The US need not ask permission of Israel’s enemies.
It is within Trump’s authority. And he is a decisive leader. That is why the Globalist pukes and the Left hates him.
He is effective.
