It will be like boxing, a niche sport for desperately poor kids. Which is sort of how it started.
Not too long ago, the heavyweight champ was the most famous athlete in the world. Today, even knowledgeable sports fans have no clue who he/they are. I sure don't. That happened in a generation. It can happen to the NFL.
Sadly, you are very much mistaken. The NFL will still be around for the 2022 season. It's not going to die that soon. There are simply too many people still willing to pay money to watch the games, even here on FR. The decline in viewership will bottom out in the next year or two.
Are the glory days over? For sure. The days of peak revenue are certainly past. But it's not going away anytime soon.
