Roger Goodell has signed a five-year contract extension to remain the commissioner of the NFL, according to a letter obtained by ESPN.
A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the new contract would be worth $200 million over the life of the contract -- about $40 million annually -- if owners approve all the bonuses and all the incentives are met.

Recently he’s done a terrible job. Before that he brought a lot of money into the NFL. No ethics or morals, but a tremendous amount of money.

It will be like boxing, a niche sport for desperately poor kids. Which is sort of how it started.
Not too long ago, the heavyweight champ was the most famous athlete in the world. Today, even knowledgeable sports fans have no clue who he/they are. I sure don't. That happened in a generation. It can happen to the NFL.
Some years ago I remember Condoleeza Rice telling an interviewer that she would like to be NFL Commissioner after her government days ended. That might be a solution to the mess since most of the black athletes grew up doting on Momma/Grand Momma and would be more likely to respect her than a beefy privileged white Jewish guy. I doubt if she’d take any crap either.

They think they’ll make up the numbers by attracting more women and liberals as viewers. The idiot doesn’t realize that both of those demographics hate the game. While the NFL saw an uptick in women viewers, it *will* decline as more concussion information is released.
