Its bad for football, Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden said on ESPN during postgame coverage. Theres going to be some fines, theres going be some stringent discipline. Lets just hope a lot of these men are able to get up tomorrow morning and move on with life. Some of this stuff got out of hand tonight. Its very disgusting and disturbing.
Yahoo Sports Pat Forde was blunt in his assessment of the game while giving credit to the MNF team for their critical coverage of the violence.
It was, however, a good night for ESPN. Sean McDonough minced no words, Lisa Salters asked Roethlisberger good questions in the right order. No sugarcoating what happened. Pat Forde (@YahooForde) December 5, 2017
CBS Sports Will Brinson noted the postgame interview, in which Lisa Salters jumped straight to the point with Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, whose trite response is drawing attention all over Twitter.
Ben Roethlisberger was just asked by Lisa Salters how to explain
the viciousness and brutality of this football game. AFC North football. Thats it? Yup.

Just wait until the cut player salaries.
It’s football - some of the strongest, fastest athletes in the world running into each other as hard as they can. Violence is part of the game. I hope Ryan Shazier will be OK and back on his feet soon, but criticizing violence in football is like criticizing the sun for being bright and round.
They can blame it on a rivalry, but I wonder if part of it is players lashing out over the failing NFL. It was brutal. If they want to play like that and cart multiple people off the field per game, it will only hasten their demise.
They’ll really be oppressed then!/s
Illiterate thugs thinking money validates their incoherent rantings and conduct.
It's football, some of the biggest fata**es in the world with the highest body fat percentage, covered with hard plastic padding, running into each other.
Crash Davis: It's time to work on your interviews.
Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: My interviews? What do I gotta do?
Crash Davis: You're gonna have to learn your clichés. You're gonna have to study them, you're gonna have to know them. They're your friends. Write this down: "We gotta play it one day at a time."
Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: Got to play... it's pretty boring.
Crash Davis: 'Course it's boring, that's the point. Write it down.
They need to learn how to tackle. Police officers are trained how to bring someone down larger than they are without leaving the ground. Stop spearing and leading with the helmet and instead wrap up the person and use your inertia and body weight to take them down.
Good grief - did you see the shot all-American white guy Rob Gronkowski laid on Tra’Davious White? Moron.
National Felons League
You don’t think football players haven’t been training how to tackle since they were in about the 6th grade?
Why aren’t some of these miscreants arrested for common assault and battery?
So...
it’s now officially Roller Ball?
Yes, that would be much easier to watch instead of weaponizing their helmets.

What is that?
Sorry, but that's just not true. Have you seen the huge guts of some of these guys hanging over their belts? That's not athleticism. It's positional, and the running backs, receivers, safety's etc. can be in incredibly good shape, but there are also plenty of players who are truly just fat. I was at a major college game recently, and with all the substitutions and time-outs, there's really not much demand for aerobic conditioning in these guys. If you've ever done or watched roadwork and gym workouts for boxing, you will see low-body fat incredibly in-shape athletes. Pro-football, not so much. I used to love football, but at this point I find it incredibly boring. I'm not sure what changed, but partly I think it's the time-outs and play stoppage.
I think the big fast players are being taught to simply run into the person at full speed and lead with your shoulder. They are playing as if they are checking someone into the boards.
