WSJ: It's Time for Mueller to Step Down
Newsmax ^ | 5 Dec 2017 | Jeffrey Rodack

Posted on 12/05/2017 3:00:43 PM PST by mandaladon

The Wall Street Journal is urging special counsel Robert Mueller to resign.

In an editorial, the newspaper cited "troubling questions" about Mueller and the FBI.

"The Washington Post and The New York Times reported Saturday that a lead FBI investigator on the Mueller probe, Peter Strzok, was demoted this summer after it was discovered he'd sent anti-Trump texts to a mistress," the Journal said.

"As troubling, Mr. Mueller and the Justice Department kept this information from House investigators, despite Intelligence Committee subpoenas that would have exposed those texts. They also refused to answer questions about Mr. Strzok's dismissal and refused to make him available for an interview."

And it said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is taking on a questionable role of resisting congressional oversight.

It noted the Justice Department has floated numerous reasons for ignoring the House subpoenas. And it claimed none of them were "persuasive."

"First it claimed cooperation would hurt the Mueller probe, but his prosecutions are proceeding apace," the Journal said. "Then Justice claimed that providing House investigators with classified material could hurt security or sources.

And the Journal said the time has come for Mueller to step down.

"The latest news supports our view that Mr. Mueller is too conflicted to investigate the FBI and should step down in favor of someone more credible," the newspaper said. "The investigation would surely continue, though perhaps with someone who doesn't think his job includes protecting the FBI and Mr. (James) Comey from answering questions about their role in the 2016 election."

This entire fiasco is laid at the feet of Jeff Sessions. No one else to blame but Sessions.

“...self-appointed KGB of America...”

Good one. Yes, capturing the moment when our government is so totally out of control and wrapped up in its own empowerment and enrichment. And the lobby and campaign money keeps fueling it all....along with tolerated and ignored lawlessness.

Not good enough. Time for this sham to end. Forget stepping down, the investigation needs to die ASAP. This is all a big fraud because the bitch didn’t win.

Disagree.

Mueller should stay on. And on and on and on.

This Peter Strzok debacle is just the latest misstep - the latest screw-up that has resulted from the Mueller investigation.

Leave this idiot alone. He certainly is not harming Trump or conservatives. All he is doing is more serious harm to the Rats. Almost on a daily basis.

Mueller is our Useful Idiot.

Leave him be.

The Mueller investigation is the fruit of a poisonous tree. The special council was appointed on a lie by Rosenstein, a man with questionable allegiances and therefor Muelller not only be fired but everyone involved with approving the sale of US uranium to Putin, the Clinton email, scandal, the fake Trump dossier must be arrested and put on trial for numerous crimes.

The ONLY way Trump can even begin to disband the Deep State is to START ARRESTING THEM AND THROW THEM IN FEDERAL PRISON.

This 'two-tiered' Justice system cr*p is an OUTRAGE and must be corrected.

“make him explain this stonewalling”

What’s to explain? Strzok lied with his characterization of Hillary Clinton’s actions regarding the handling of her e-mails, so she wouldn’t be prosecuted; and, as the FBI’s resident Russia expert he lied about a need for an investigation in order to try and politically damage the president, answering Clinton’s call to “resist” and to buy time for her.

We know these things now; or as president Trump stated in a tweet the other day, “This explains a lot of things.”

Mueller knew these things but kept them to himself. He may face malicious prosecution and abuse of legal process charges. He knew Strzok was a partisan and that he lied.

In sum, this evidences what most of us here said it was all along: a political scalp hunt, not a search for truth, as well as an attempt to keep the focus off Hillary Clinton’s many crimes; or as she is reputed to have said, “If I lose we all hang from nooses.”

The whole Mueller, Comey, and other co-conspiritors thing is a disgrace. Nothing but a witch hunt. In the meanwhile Hillary goes skipping on her merry way with clouds of unlawful and unethical things following her but going unnoticed by the power people.

To: mandaladon; All

Mueller has NOTHING when it comes to “Collusion” with the Russians during the 2016 election.

Hence, this is why Muller is exceeding his authority and hopes no one will notice that he is going for “obstruction”.

I would add cease all their assets, interrogate them and charge them depending how cooperative they are in testifying against others.

I know partisan politics rules the day, but I am completely baffled at how this Kabuki Comedy can continue without anyone from the DOJ or congress stepping up to speak the truth and start indicting and investigating what has gone on in the FBI, the Clinton Crime family, the DNC and all the rest.

Huh?

That’s like claiming you’re completely baffled why everything is wet after it rains!

What do you think partisan politics looks like?

Sunlight is the best disinfectant. These swampers want to pull strings in the shadows. They need to be testifying under oath. If they want to spring perjury traps then turnabout is fair play as they say.

Big step for the establishment leaning, Wall Street Oligarchy mouthpiece. I'm actually surprised.

Maybe they're getting tired of trying to take out the king, and going out of business while doing so.

Yes Mueller and his band of bandits must stop the swamp's investigation of the Rose Garden.

Peter Strzok, whom I believe needs to buy a vowel, let Clinton skate, and hurt General Flynn on a technicality.

It's over.
