New claims that Saudi Arabia aided Sept. 11 terrorists (Holy Cow!)

A drawn-out fight between the families of Sept. 11 victims and the Saudi government has been shocked anew with claims from former top U.S. intelligence officials that Riyadh provided aid to some of the terrorists responsible for killing 2,996 and injuring more than 6,000 in 2001.

Affidavits filed by three former FBI officials provided to Secrets charge that Saudi Arabia used intricate espionage “tradecraft” to help the attackers prepare and hide out in the U.S.

And another from knowledgeable former Florida Sen. Bob Graham charges that the hijackers could not have succeeded without a financial and logistical support network.

“Official Saudi entities provide financial and other support to individuals in the United States and around the world who are associated with terrorism,” said former FBI spy catcher Mike Rochfort, the ex-chief of the espionage section of the FBI’s counterintelligence division.

Stephen K. Moore, the retired FBI agent who led the Sept. 11 probe in Los Angeles, said in his affidavit that Saudi officials cared for the two terrorists that flew American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon, Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar.

“Upon their arrival in southern California, Hazmi and Mihdhar were promptly cocooned by a highly matrixed network of aiders and facilitators who cleared a path to their success – supplying every physical and spiritual need to advance their mission," he wrote.

David Mitchell, a former FBI terrorism investigator, added, “I concluded that diplomatic and intelligence personnel of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia knowingly provided material support to the two 9/11 hijackers and facilitated the 9/11 plot.”

Makes one wonder if Trump didn’t give the Saudi’s an ultimatum. Either get rid of the terrorist supporters (like Prince Alwaleed bin Talal) or face the consequences.

Almost certainly true.
The Saudis use foreign terrorism as a relief valve for discontent at home.
Whether this was the Saudi government or ‘just’ a Saudi Royal remains to be seen.

Article makes it sound like it was the Saudi government.

So....then the Bushes helped usher the Saudi’s out of the country, when no one else could fly.

And then we attacked Afghanistan and Iraq?

bin Laden was a Saudi. The origins of al-Qaida are Saudi. Did the Saudi government play a role? I don’t know.

Saudi Arabia is a bunch of extremist nutjobs. We shouldn’t allow any of them to roam freely in our nation.

So the 9/11 Commission’s report was, um, not completely truthful?

Say it ain’t so...

Funny how this comes up after a power change in Saudi Arabia that appears to make the Soros and his ilk unhappy. Trust nothing that comes out of the FBI. Nothing.

Article makes it sound like it was the Saudi government.

As has been bemoaned by many countries who have dealt the KSA, there really isn't a government...just an extended family and a lot of money.

At least, not until now. I think the young Prince is going to create a country.

Interesting that the only flights authorized in the week after 9/11 we ones ferrying Soddies out of the reach of US law enforcement.

Thanks President Bush!

We already know this. And yet administration after administration continues to bend over for the Saudis.

I have always believed the Saudis were the true perpetrators, but I don’t think it was the official government. I think it was the super wealthy princes. I wonder how much of that involvement has to do with the current situation in Saudi Arabia now.

Was that what the ‘quiet coup’ was earlier?

I would still approve of US military action against SA for 9-11.

Still dont know about the Vegas shooting.

The Saudi government disburses oil money far and wide to placate the populace. Yes, Saudi citizens who come to the U. S. are often getting Saudi government support, and they are connected to the Saudi Embassy. People on extended stays in foreign nations often keep some relationship with their nation’s embassy.

Now, does this mean that Saudi Arabia was in on the plot and aided these people specifically because they had an important terrorist plot against the U. S.? I still tend to doubt it.

Yes family members were spirited out of the U. S. Just after the attack on 09/11/01. If the government was aiding/directing the attack, wouldn’t They have told family members to stay home?

Here’s something that people hardly ever consider.

When our markets crashed, guess what happened to Saudi investments in the West. Saudi net worth took a massive hit on 09/12/01.

I remain very skeptical regarding Saudi involvement in this terrorist attack.

Saudi self-interest was not served in any way by that attack.

Further, if it were seen as a Saudi government plot by the U. S., the King and his government would have been open to attack and removal.

The Saudi government had a long working relationship with the Bush family. I find it very hard to believe that they would attack the U. S. In this manner when a Bush was president.

One fundamental maxim in criminal investigation is the question "Cui bono?" ("who benefits?").

What was the result of 9/11? The taking down of Saddam Hussein's regime, a regional threat to the Saudis.
