What I hear in this is a Dutch fellow lamenting the loss of Dutch culture, Dutch exceptionalism, Dutch toleration, Dutch (brace for a bad word) nationalism, this in an EU that has no place for any of that. The Netherlands fought for its independence for eighty years and gave it away in ten. If he wants it back it's going to be his fight.
