NORTH Korea better be watching its back today as thousands of US troops and 230 warplanes descend on Kim Jong-uns doorstep.
Vigilant Ace a massive joint war games kicks off today as the US and South Korea rehearse for battle with Pyongyang.
Hundreds of aircraft and thousands of soldiers and airmen are taking part in the drill, which is one of the biggest ever of its kind.

Let’s not base our strategic decisions on wishful thinking.

Just about any of our fighters and bombers carry a much greater bomb load then the planes in WW2.
A 1,000 plane raid can be done by 100 of today’s planes.

I’m certain we do - no sense letting the cat out of the bag before absolutely necessary. My understanding is that the system is not 100% yet so no need to take a chance until needed.
The military’s operational readiness is never in doubt - a few tweaks per theater and all will be set. I agree with the idea that POTUS cannot let the present course of NK continue; I fear for a lot of people in this situation - having been to SK several times in the past my concerns are somewhat personal as well.

I agree.
I wonder how SK and Japan feels about any of this.
My concern here is that our deck watch officers can’t seem to master not running into other ships on steady courses and speeds in clear weather in the dark.
If we can’t manage that, then how to we deal with the 64,000 plus artillery pieces aimed at Seoul and take out the nuke capability too.
