The 10mm is a much better round.

"I hate the 9mm, it has no stopping power" If you travel back in time, that statement has some merit. Nevertheless the Army didn't think so in 1985 when they adopted the Beretta. Today 9mm loads have improved such that the FBI and others are dropping S&W (short and weak) .40 and going back to 9mm pistols. Saying the 9mm has no stopping power in 2017 is nonsense. If they have any extras, I'll be glad to buy one.

Hollow points would violate The Geneva Convention.

The Geneva Convention does not cover ammunition bans. There was a part of the Hague convention that did and the United States did not sign that part of the treaty.

Hollow points would violate The Geneva Convention.

A common misperception. It is actually the Hague convention and the US is not a signatory.

Of course, the usual way armies enforce this in the field is that anyone captured with hollow point ammo is summarily executed. The brass usually gets the message in a short while.

“Would .40 (.400”) ball stop any better than 9mm (.355”) ball? I don’t think it would make that much of a difference, and with 9mm you get more rounds in the same length magazine.”

It a HUGE difference because diameter isn’t the only measure of effectiveness.

Many objected, but the guy he shot never said a word about it....

Yeah, dead men tend to not make appeals.

Smartass comments aside I know what you meant. >

Nguyễn Văn Lém was a committed Commie. Just as the hardcore Nazis at the Nuremberg trials, they were true believers in their notorious acts and refused to show remorse for the cold blood murders they committed in advancement of their evil ideology.

Didn't know the photographer apologized to General Loan. At least he came to understand some people do not deserve a long lengthy trail.

Depending on the rounds used to compare, a .40 will have about 33% more knock down energy

I know the kenetic energy difference between .40 and 9mm, but with ball ammunition you’re most likely going to get a passthrough and a majority of that energy is not delivered into the target.

Funny, the title made me think of this: I love the smell of that burnt powder. Smooth, not acrid. I’d bet it was made in the Pennsylvania DOW plant in the early Spring.

U are so right. Game Warden told us one night that more deer were poached with .22 LR hollow points than anything else.

No, they violate The Hague conventions. We are not a signatory.

The Hague conventions outlawed “dum-dum” bullets. We are not a signatory to The Hague conventions.

Don’t stand in front of one - especially with the hollow points my wife uses....
