Report: Kate Steinle Jury Focused on Gun Used by Five-Time Deported Illegal Alien
Breitbart ^ | 12/1/17 | John Binder

Posted on 12/02/2017 5:46:11 AM PST by x1stcav

The predominately millennial jury in the Kate Steinle murder trial was laser-focused on the gun that was shot by the illegal alien from Mexico who caused the California woman’s death.

While deliberating the high-profile case, the jury — which was not sequestered and was stacked with 20 to 30-something-year-olds, as well as three foreign-born residents — focused primarily on the weapon, rather than the illegal alien.

Such an important part of the case is the accidental discharge. I would have wanted a test to see what it would take to accidentally fire the weapon.

There is no such thing as an accidental discharge (AD).

The correct expression is negligent discharge (ND), that is, the discharge of a firearm involving culpable carelessness.

All so-called ADs are NDs. Guns do not fire themselves.

That’s ignorantspeak for “single action”, I’d wager.

We have too many people who don't have even an ounce of common sense. I'm pretty sure the rising number of morons can be connected to the large increase in the number of people attending college.

"Yes, that “stolen” and “found again” weapon that the ILLEGAL probably stole himself. I shout foul, foul. foul!"

What criminal with a stolen weapon would take it to a wide open location on a public pier and ditch it under an open bench - rather than at a concealed place where no one would see him or anything he left?

Or at least, once on the pier, toss it in the water as this criminal Mexican did after he shot Steinle?

Old timers used to refer to them as “educated beyond their intelligence.”

I own CZs with hammers (`poor man’s Sig’) and believe they are the same as Sigs in operation: SA/DA. The first shot is DA, or like a revolver. Maybe a Sig owner could clarify.

One of the reasons I bought the CZ: you have to mean it to fire the first shot, the rest are like `breaking a glass rod.”
This was OJ Simpson redux: another La La land travesty of justice.

Yeah, if the prosecution didn’t work too hard to get any mature people on the jury, they didn’t want to win too badly. Which is what I’m convinced of.

The weapon was a Sig P229 .40 cal. A double action, single action gun. It has a significantly hard pull through. It doesn’t do accidental discharge. You have to aggressively pull the trigger.

Truly a land of fruits, NUTS and flakes.

America ought to disown California as a foreign country.

so basically they confirmed “Guns don’t kill”

Great no need to keep shouting for gun control etc.

Also it means they were either instructed improperly or disregarded their jury job of whether or not the person on trial (not the weapon) was responsible for what happened.

they all hold blame for future violence by this man they acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges as well as for other violence encouraged by their verdict.

The judge also did not allow the jurors to “experiment” with the weapon to see how it worked. That could have been done by clearing the weapon and allowing the jurors to operate it while dictating into the record what each juror was doing with it. There’s a good chance none of them even knew how a a DA/SA semi-auto works.

I would really like to know if it had a single or two stage trigger. My Beretta Model 96 has a two stage trigger when it’s in single action mode. That trigger requires, in single action mode, a pull of about an eighth of an inch before it reaches the release point, where there’s an increase in resistance before the weapon will discharge.

Many, many years ago I backpacked Hetch Hetchy and Tuolomne. That area was beautiful back then (and full of black bears!).

“””stacked with 20 to 30-something-year-olds, as well as three foreign-born residents”””

In other words, 9 antifa members and 3 illegals(or at the very least, related to illegals)
