President Donald Trump dismissed the rumors that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson would be leaving his position were "fake news" made up by the media. Earlier on Friday, Tillerson also said he was going to be sticking around and laughed off reports he was out.
Trump posted a tweet and an Instagram about how he had not fired Tillerson, and that while they may disagree on things, they "work well together." Trump said he also calls the final shots when he does not agree with Tillerson on something. Tillerson, Trump believes, will help make America better respected.
The media has been speculating that I fired Rex Tillerson or that he would be leaving soon - FAKE NEWS! Hes not leaving and while we disagree on certain subjects, (I call the final shots) we work well together and America is highly respected again!https://t.co/FrqiPLFJ1E Donald J. The Instagram was the same as the tweet, but superimposed over a picture of Trump swearing in Tillerson in the Oval Office.

Well, that certainly gets the point across and shuts down any rumors to the contrary. Looks like Tillerson's job is safe, for now.
let’s keep an eye on those being let go out the back door in the next couple of weeks. probably the leakers.
Well...let’s see who will be leaving the White House staff in the next few weeks. XPmass is gonna be rough for a certain (and currently, unspecified) leaker.
Can’t wait for the next “Leaker Trap” to be sprung.
I hope some here at FR will now apologize
He never was. This story was leak bait.
This was very likely a targeted leak to “out” one or more leakers high in the administration. What got out to the media probably tells Trump who it was.
Why did Laura Ingram say so? Who’s side she on?
Laura is a good journalist, that is why many took it as fact. She got played.
This has really gotten tiresome.
Maybe I should start waiting until Sarah Sanders declares what the admin. really believes or intends.
Probably read the leaked report and just reported it assuming it was authentic.
That is not how you treat folks who have dedicated their lives to professional service. It's not. Truly. There, I've said it thrice.
There’s a fine line between a journalist and a sensationalist. I’d consider most people in the talk radio and cable news business to part of the latter group — even when I like them.
Gooooo Rex!!!
Really? I see a lot of sensationalists these days. Few journalists, you know folks who start by eliciting and reporting [true - to be redundant] facts.
This is the other thing that does not compute here in the swamp, that dissent or disagreements over policy can be allowed. You see, ever since Clinton and his crowd - Podesta, Stephanopoulos, and that ilk - governing has been about "messaging" and spin control. It is about mind control not managing the government in the interests of the American people. Debate over best options is not wanted here.
Yup. All the political YouTube videos are incredibly overblown and sensationalized. Even the dopey robotic narrated ones. I always give these morons a thumbs down and comment accordingly.
Exactly and saving us taxpayers lots of money spent useless bureaucrats.
Her information was too specific to be sensational. I am more apt to believe that someone wanted to cripple her credibility. Watch for the left pointing to her as fake news.
Some here were delighted.
