I really don’t see as much of that as I used to. I remember when Enos Cabell played for the Astros back in the 80’s. We’d call him Enos “Tug” Cabell because of his many on-field “adjustments”. What I do see a lot today is incessant spitting. I don’t know why baseball players are always spitting.

When Mike Hargrove played for the Cleveland Indians he was nicknamed “The Human Rain Delay” because he was always stepping out of the batter’s box and fidgeting with something or other between every pitch.

How about that little second base man, Altuve, constantly chewing his nails and spitting? The camera seemed to catch him every time. It was a joke and we suggested having an “over/under bet on how many times he would bite his damn nails.
What a gross habit!
