After more than a year of investigating (and thousands of wasted taxpayer dollars), that’s all Mueller could come up with? The standard charge that the feds can levy against almost anyone (let federal agents interview you multiple times on the same topic; I guarantee your narrative will change and when it does, voila, making a false statement).

Two options: either Mueller sang like a canary (doubtful, because we would have been hearing leaks from the Muller camp long ago), or the investigation came up with nothing, and to justify the time, effort and expense, they came with the “universal crime” in this sort of case.

The Dims ought to be worried. Flynn was one of the “big fish” that was going to lead investigators to Trump, and that (apparently) hasn’t happened). They’ve still got Manafort, but that pathway doesn’t look very promising either. Manafort will probably go to jail, but it will be for his business dealings and tax evasion long before he (briefly) joined the Trump campaign.

Meanwhile, the Podesta shoe has yet to drop. In fact, if the Flynn probe proved to be a dry hole, you could argue that Mueller’s wrapping up that portion of the investigation to focus on more lucrative targets, including the Podesta brothers.

Did Flynn actually work for the Trump campaign? How long was hs in a the administration? A few weeks? How could he know anything about Trump/collusion?

As with Paul Manafort, any of the things that Flynn is charged with are UNRELATED to his activities with teh Trump campaign. They all occurred prior (in the case of Manafort up to a decade) ahead of their work on the Trump campaign.

was never put under oath by the FBI

You don't have to be put "under oath" to be guilty of lying to the FBI.

You're thinking of a court of law or Congress.

“There is no fairness or justice in this nation currently. The Kate Steinle verdict, and now this - among so many other things. Hillary lied over, and over, and over, and over again, but was never put under oath by the FBI - and was left to skate. Flynn probably committed either an error in judgment or an error in assessment regarding what he thought was pertinent in his testimony, and they go after him. We, as a nation, in the past several days, have allowed a 6x illegal immigrant to get away with shooting and killing a young woman in front of her father, and let a terrorist involved in the Benghazi murders essentially skate, but nonetheless pinned charges on Flynn.
Unless the ‘swamp’ is not only drained - but torched afterward, we have no legitimate path forward as a nation. The biggest pieces of scum are smugly entrenched, and they are the ones pointing fingers at everyone else.”

After 241 years the nation has rotted out a la the Roman Empire.

This is about Trump saying Flynn is a good guy. Comey must be chomping at the bit.

I believe it went like....Flynn is a good guy...And Comey responded "Yes" to Trump's lead.

So me thinks Comey was lying...but he's allowed.

What's being reported is that Flynn was wiretapped and the FBI interview when Flynn lied took place in January - one of the conversations that the FBI was asking about took place BEFORE Trump took office, meaning that the FBI was monitoring Trump transition team through unmasking and a portion of that conversation was leaked to the Washington Compost back then.

You have to be convicted to be pardoned.

Mueller manufactured a process crime ala Scooter Libby!

More like Martha Stewart.

It is all Sessions fault. He set this all up to cover for Obama and Hillary. Now Mueller can find measley process crimes and “link by association” with POTUS Trump. Meanwhile everyone is locked from touching Obama and Hillary. A total stand still because sessions wants it that way.

I agree....but there’s absolutely no record of Comey interviewing Hillary...not one slip of paper. Not one word.

I’m no lawyer, but I think not. Ford pardoned Nixon before Nixon even went to trial.

Never talk to the cops.

Unless you can manage to surreptitiously record them.

Gowdy nailed down at least three instances where HRC lied before CONGRESS regarding her emails. Justice denied.

Will Mueller now push for obstruction of justice agains Trump for “interfering” on Flynn’s behalf? Mueller is still on the warpath.

You make a very good point, Sacajaweau. These corruptocrats knew what they were doing when they were covering for Cankles.

Not putting her on the record was the best strategy. It was funny to see Congressional committees go on and on to Comey about her lying in television interviews and speeches as if there was legal recourse.

I'll give Hillary McMuffdiver credit. She sure knows how to get away with shit.

Not true. Reference Nixon and Marc Rich.
