Report: Several men accuse spouse of Senate President Stan Rosenberg of abuse (Massachusetts)
Boston Herald ^ | 11-30-2017 | Associated Press

Democratic Senate President Stan Rosenberg said Thursday he was taking seriously a report that his husband sexually assaulted and harassed several men, including some with business before the Legislature.

The Boston Globe reported it spoke with four men who said Bryon Hefner sexually assaulted and harassed them over the past few years.

Three of the men told the Globe that Hefner grabbed their genitals and one said Hefner kissed him against his will. The Globe said it found no evidence Rosenberg knew about the alleged assaults.

Hefner said in a statement to the Globe through his lawyer that he was "shocked to learn of these anonymous and hurtful allegations."

"To my knowledge, no one has complained to me or any political or governmental authority about these allegations which are now surfacing years afterward," Hefner, 30, said in the statement. "As one can imagine, it is incredibly difficult to respond to allegations by unnamed and unidentified individuals that involve an extended period of time, particularly in the current environment."

Rosenberg, 68, a state senator since 1991, assumed the top leadership post in January 2016. He is the first openly gay leader of either legislative chamber in Massachusetts.

Shortly before his election as president, Rosenberg responded to reports that Hefner, his then domestic partner, had used social media to boast of his influence in Senate affairs.

In a December 2014 letter to 33 Democratic senators, Rosenberg vowed to create a "firewall" between his personal and professional life.

In a statement issued by his office Thursday, Rosenberg said the allegations published by the Globe marked the first time he heard about the claims and that he takes them seriously.

"His husband"

Maybe the Yellowstone Caldera should just erupt.

These people hate time for sexual assaults but they have no time to pass laws or legislate

I read the headline with a “last century” mindset. You know, when a husband was the spouse of a woman.

I read the entire article, and it says the man child er husband. Back up a sec. They were married in a private ceremony last September after having been together "several years". And both had been raised in the foster system cementing the "bond".

I don't believe Rosenberg who probably knows way more than he is letting on. Also it's possible the partner could have fudged his age and sticks with Rosenberg for reasons of protection, money and goes elsewhere for thrills, obviously promiscuous and unfaithful, maybe like an open union.

All of them are protected and serve as a social engineering wedge against straight society which far outnumbers them.

And if they were abused in the foster system, as these two may have been, then I feel sorry for them but do not condone spreading their "sickness".

I liked it better when they used to stone these freaks.

That's just plain wrong.

This is repulsive and must be changed. But not that way.

Yeah, there may be someone who speaks up and says the older guy actually knew the whole behavior. Crazy times.

"his husband"

Speaks for itself. I'm glad my dad died before all this crap started happening. He was a loyal Democrat and a staunch Catholic, and the contradictions between the two would have destroyed him, one way or the other.

So these two made a habit of having men over who had business before the legislature. Sounds like an expectation of play to pay for me. Quid pro quo. Just like the Hollywood casting couch. Wonder how many did the dirty deed and kept their mouths shut because they got what they wanted out of the legislature?

“No matter how many times you see “his husband” or “her wife” it will never ever sound right.”

And it never, ever should, either. We need to keep reminding ourselves of that. Someone has to keep the torch of morality burning. The left is trying hard to make us lose our way.

GnuThere, and isn't it odd that nary a word about the age difference of the couple, but straight as an arrow Christian Roy Moore gets raked over the coals in probable falsehoods and admitedly dating younger women (haters prefer to use girls or teens then pedophile) but of legal age in AL?

RegulatorCountry, good thinking, didn't think of that angle. But we both know that there will be no probe (I didn't mean a double entendre there). Will leave it. A straight Republican definitely would get a Congressional Committee thrice-over and then some, keep it in the media.

It's a wonder this even got reported in both Boston papers evidently.

Good point. AND the press never mentions that Moore had a lot of positives as a suitor; they would like people to picture a smarmy criminal preying on a little girl. That’s just not the idea I get.
