Same-sex marriage is a step closer to being legal - after the Senate passed a bill without amendments. This afternoon, the upper house voted 43 to 12 in favour of the bill originally proposed by Liberal senator Dean Smith. But it's a move expected to cause some tension within the Coalition. Last night, six Coalition senators joined Labor and the Greens to scuttle changes to the bill - despite the majority of Coalition senators supporting the amendments to broaden religious protections. Cabinet ministers Simon Birmingham, Marise Payne and Nigel Scullion joined Senator Smith, Jane Hume and Linda Reynolds in voting against changes.

Australia. Look for a natural disaster to hit them some time soon.
This IS the disaster
Yep.Only there’s nothing natural about it!
Nah! I’m think more like the Chinese space station deorbiting into Sydney or maybe a large asteroid.
More sodomite play-pretend marriage.
There’s a darkness spreading across the world.
Better try to think of some reason why it wouldn’t hit the USA too.
You think they’d have learned from us not to go down that road. Especially with all of those muslims the UK is importing.
An asteroid impacts Yellowstone: women and minorities hardest hit
Let’s see: Three “unprecedented” Hurricanes, “unprecedented” fires in California and the North West, Mississippi River periodically going dry, ... I think we should have gotten the message.
This is still but a penny ante manifestation of sin, as yet.
Sodom-like situations don’t happen until it’s not only optional, it’s mandatory (they force themselves on you). Which is why the Mosaic law kept a relatively tight cap on that bottle (and still, two or three witnesses were needed, so the closet wasn’t bothered).
I’d be more concerned about Christians who couldn’t preach their way out of a wet paper bag marked “Satan.”
Oh don’t serve up the usual liberal drama queening
You really have no sense of humor at times.
Either that or you’ve never heard the joke which used the “and the NYTs read world to end: women and minorities hardest hit” punchline.
Dean Smith apparently wants the "Liberal" Party of Australia to start living up to its name. He is indeed a "liberal Senator".
And really, folks.
I’ve had reason to ponder really GUTSY Christianity over the last several weeks, and it’s hit me like a ton of bricks. (Not pricks, bricks.)
Christians today couldn’t preach their way out of a wet paper bag marked “Satan.” They drama-queen about situations that are way less than how bad they could get. Are we Beirut yet? If not, there’s hope. Now can we get that hope out of that wet paper bag?
It has to begin by being able to talk on the level of your audience. We’re just too doggone POLITE, dog our cats. Oh, we’ve got a body and that fallen grody thing still might have honorable uses? You mean we don’t have to be embarrassed about it anymore?
Well news flash. That’s why there was an Incarnation. That’s God saying with irrefutable example that you can be blessed right down to your guts.
And if you know Jesus you can even talk about how it FEELS.
We don’t have a bless-you-right-down-to-your-guts Christianity any more. That’s why we can’t do a bit of good. You think the hellfire makes any impact? They’ve heard it a zillion times, do you think the zillion and first will change anything?
Hmmmmm. The government’s “Just Laws” are forcing evil, irrational behaviors on their culture so they can destroy the minds of little children and hyper-sexualize them so when they read Shakespeare and Milton when the word “marriage” is stated or spouse, or ..... the child will have to “think’ —oh, is he going to marry a man or woman.
This is a destruction of the word “marriage” and a forcing of irrationality and satanism (yes—a religion) on little children so they are as irrational and evil as the Ancient pagan slave cultures where Evil was Good and pederasty was normal. But even the pederasts never legalized “marrying” the little boys because they KNEW that sodomy had NOTHING to do with the term “Marriage”.
Oh no, I think you’re ludicrous.
