Leandra English, who was tapped by former Director Richard Cordray to be the acting director, filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia against Trump and Mulvaney, whom the president nominated to be CFPB's interim leader.
The office of the CFPBs head council is expected to challenge her suit, claiming Trump has the authority to override the bureaus line of succession, Reuters reported Sunday night.
Englishs complaint claims that she is the rightful acting director of the CFPB, and that the court should bar Mulvaney from taking the post. English claims that the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act that lay out the CFPBs line of succession supersedes the Federal Vacancies Act, which Trump used to nominate Mulvaney.

Yeah it does; definitely a hippie type.
Must have lived next door to to her equally hippie sister.
>Some judge will drag himself off of his boyfriend tonight and grant an injunction. Tomorrow shell start all kinds of enforcement actions and plant lots of booby traps for her eventual, and inevitable, successor.
I hope Trump ignores it and has the locks changed in her office.
>I truly hate these people.
You should, they’re quite evil.
And we are forced to pay for this entire farce too The sooner djt can fure these obama operatives the better
What is this cr##? Why is it necessary to reestablish the chain of command in this situation?
The fact she was able to file this suit on a Sunday is the first clue.
Hillary thought the WH was her job too - go away snowflake-ette....
Ya know, when they do this it is also spitting in the face of we the people who elected this president. I no longer feel as if we have any say at the ballot box. Disenfranchised, is that what it’s called? This has got to stop. It is not the way a Republic is supposed to function.
Oh yes, its even worse than just paying for all of this crap with our tax payer money. The CFPB has been using the money its extorted from fining companies to fund left wing groups.
plus, the agency has driven out MANY MANY mortgage lending companies plus it has forced many smaller and medium-sized banks to stop or substantially curtail mortgage lending, too. In short, it is creating a virtual monopoly (the four very largest bankers) in Real Estate lending... which is NOT good for the public AT ALL...as consumer choice gets more and more limited in both sources and available terms of loans)
of course, this was one of the key purposes for this redundant, super-highly-politicized (as you’ve pointed out, corrupt in reality) agency in the first place
No wonder these corrupt leftists are fighting to the death for their continued governance of this entity.
PDJT snuck in on them, under their radar, and they are fit to be tied.
The legality was thoroughly examined and approved by the DOJ.
Someone needs to remind him, “Elections have consequences.”
Or her, whatever.
