CFPB deputy director sues Trump to block Mulvaney as interim leader

Replay Mute Loaded: 0%Progress: 0% -0:00 Share Fullscreen The deputy director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) on Sunday night sued President Trump in order to block Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney from taking over as acting director of the agency.

Leandra English, who was tapped by former Director Richard Cordray to be the acting director, filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia against Trump and Mulvaney, whom the president nominated to be CFPB's interim leader.

The office of the CFPB’s head council is expected to challenge her suit, claiming Trump has the authority to override the bureau’s line of succession, Reuters reported Sunday night.

English’s complaint claims that she is the rightful acting director of the CFPB, and that the court should bar Mulvaney from taking the post. English claims that the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act that lay out the CFPB’s line of succession supersedes the Federal Vacancies Act, which Trump used to nominate Mulvaney.

She looks like one of those idiot women who were crying for Hillary on election night. Mulvaney should remove her access to the building tomorrow morning.

She looks like she never stopped crying for the whole year and month ago that happened.

This Crap won’t fly. In the federal government, “acting” anything is not the same as the real thing. There technically is no such position as “acting director.”

Leandra needs to be visited by Mulvaney tomorrow morning in the company of a couple of Federal Marshals, who will stand by while she clears out her desk. But the more likely scenario is that we will be treated to the “Liberal Federal Judge Lambada,” which will undergo a “DC Circuit Court Lambada,” followed by a rapid trip to the SCOTUS where the President’s authority will be upheld. Following that, every illegal action taken by English, will be vacated. Beyond that, staffers who abetted English’ actions will be asked to find alternative employment.

Why can’t forests just rush through someone Trump appoints...they can also go into a brief recess so he can appoint someone. They can. Also kill this institution. So many ways to fix this if the Senate had a leader

The entire Dodd-Frank law included the creation of the CFPB and multiple ways to keep a Republican president from touching it.

From getting funding from the Federal Reserve Bank, not Congress, to an explicit set of rules that make this board unaccountable to anyone, are reasons why the DC District Court has already ruled the agency illegally constructed.

Add in that NO conservatives or republicans were allowed to work there and that the fines were designed to go to liberal front groups, well, this agency needs to be audited and shut down.

The EPA and osha need to step in immediately and declare the cob office buildings as biohazards and unsafe for the cupboard office workers including the acting chair. Since they all contribute to anthropogenic climate change they must remain evacuated by personnel until the buildings can be safely inspected with the appropriate controlled demolition and heavy bulldozer experts. Anyone with a Rachel corrie syndrome exempted.

NTS. Trump doesn't’t need the courts permission to fire anyone.

Warren got this fiefdom set up so that it was funded by the Federal Reserve (Not Congress) and the Director could only be fired for cause in the Dodd Frank Bill. Basically a license to pillage rich companies with Republicans unable to intervene. Fortunately The DC court found this unprecedented power grab unconstitutional and changed the law so the President could fire at will.

Without a doubt. The law means nothing to the left.

Some judge will drag himself off of his boyfriend tonight and grant an injunction. Tomorrow she’ll start all kinds of enforcement actions and plant lots of booby traps for her eventual, and inevitable, successor.

I truly hate these people.

Surely, this woman and much of that office need to be held accountable with their crimes.

The office of the CFPB’s head council is expected to challenge her suit, claiming Trump has the authority to override the bureau’s line of succession, Reuters reported Sunday night.

So in effect, their own attorney's office is challenging her frivolous lawsuit.

They surely went shopping and found or bought a favorable judge. It will have to go all the way to the USSC to get shut .down and that will take a while.

I am sure the judge at the first level where this is brought will go for it. That is why it WAS BROUGHT IN HIS COURT.
