Leandra English, who was tapped by former Director Richard Cordray to be the acting director, filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia against Trump and Mulvaney, whom the president nominated to be CFPB's interim leader.
The office of the CFPBs head council is expected to challenge her suit, claiming Trump has the authority to override the bureaus line of succession, Reuters reported Sunday night.
Englishs complaint claims that she is the rightful acting director of the CFPB, and that the court should bar Mulvaney from taking the post. English claims that the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act that lay out the CFPBs line of succession supersedes the Federal Vacancies Act, which Trump used to nominate Mulvaney.

“Federal marshals need to be called in to arrest her.”
Yup...anyone but the FBI. I imagine they haven’t shredded or hammered all the incriminating evidence yet.
I would imagine the statute setting up this mess has set out who gets to pick the acting head when there is a vacancy at the top. My guess is that it ain’t the guy whose ass met the door on the way out.
Congratulations Leandra. Now you’re fired. Hey Mueller, go investigate that.
acting director
The president can appoint your replacement
Yuck, I feel like I need to take a shower after slogging the the comments section. Almost as bad as DU (except that The Hill does allow for comments from all comers).
I wasn’t sure, so I looked it up. It turns out that the President of the United States outranks the Deputy Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Another swamp dweller getting dragged out kicking and screaming.
Squirrel
Just stalling. They think they are going to win the senate. So they are stalling.
Will be interesting to see who is sitting in the office tomorrow morning.
Can her sorry ass, and put an absolute prohibition on her ever working for any level of the fedgov ever again.
Step one: audit the agency.
What a useless swamp pig. This LIB loser needs taught a lesson.
The same court ruled Trump could fire the director at will. So fire her!
Fire her.
The CFPB was Elizabeth Warren’s brainchild and apparently she thought Obama would make her the first director (this was before she won the Senate seat). The law setting up the agency was intended to ensure that it would always have a Democrat running it—who would be able to staff it entirely with Democrats.
“The same court ruled Trump could fire the director at will”
NTS. Trump doesn’t need the courts permission to fire anyone.
