Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” network analyst Cokie Roberts said now that President Donald Trump had supported Alabama GOP U.S. Senate hopeful Roy Moore, it will be “very hard to defeat” Moore in the December 12 special election.

It has been a good ten years, maybe fifteen since I watched Cookie on the Saturday morning talk shows. I was replaying a video from the November 2016 election night. My God she has not aged well. And no Cookie was not an unintentional spelling error.

Yep, and telling it that the party bigwigs would overturn their choice anyway was even worse. Worse still is the arrogance and impertinence of the media telling the state that they have a definitive say in the matter.
Despite well-publicized polls that indicate that the media are widely distrusted, I don't get the feeling that anyone in the media realizes that they're actually loathed. This is odd because they're getting that message from both the Trump right and the Bernie left. Perhaps they think it doesn't matter.

As an Alabamian I can tell you that everyone I know, even those like me who weren’t Moore fans, are so very angry about the WaPo and the establishment (both Dims and GOPe) trying to pick our Senator that they’re all voting for Moore. I was going to sit out this election (for the first time since 1971) but there is no way now.....screw Washington!!!!

I get good vibes for December 12th. McTurtle is already confessing his own ineffectualness. All that’s left for the GOPe is for Lindsey Graham to go up to Senator Moore and kick him in the shins.

You’re right about that. Hubby & I are packing up to retire to Alabama from Northern Va. Won’t be eligible to vote though.
