This ban is for R134a and it is designed to make all existing new R134a equipment cars included obsolete with a pen stroke. better stock up on R134a now once it’s production is banned prices will rise to $70 or more coincidentally thats the price of it’s incompatible replacement, so not only is the replacement 70 bucks a lb you have to replace the whole unit too. The DuPonts and Honeywell clan are in for a windfall profit.

Any gas or electric heater over about 50 gallons is now equipped with a heat pump unit for “efficiency”.

An 80 gallon electric has basically gone from about 750 to over 1400 dollars.

Yes they are also more heavily insulated too.

“I have to agree, in that my experience with high efficiency washing machines they don’t get the clothes clean.”

Look into buying a Speed Queen commercial washer. We bought one 3 years ago and it uses enough water to clean and rinse clothes. Plus they are US made and built to last.

The other issue is the government mandated changes in the chemical formulations of detergents which make them much less effective in cleaning clothes, particularly whites. Fortunately it is still possible to purchase phosphates or borax to add to the load to get the clothes clean. Search the internet for formulations.

The policy is essentially that recommended some years ago by Danish mathematician Bjorn Lomborg. He rejected as excessively costly and implausible any crusade to dramatically reduce carbon dioxide emissions, but seeing evidence of potentially harmful global warming caused by humans, Lomborg urged that human emissions of more potent warming gases be reduced. As Lomborg and others have shown, this can be accomplished using the Montreal Protocol at bearable cost and with little disruption.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

“so not only is the replacement 70 bucks a lb you have to replace the whole unit too.”

AND all of the piping needs to be replaced as well. The new stuff chemically reacts with the old stuff to create a corrosive which eats through the metal pipes. Impossible to clean well enough with flushing is what I am told.

You do realize that every time you post this, you are demonstrating your ignorance? Actually, I’m sure you don’t, since you keep doing it.

I’ve thought about getting a speed queen, but do they have high capacity load machines?

Ignore Trump’s words and actions to date and this article has a chance of making sense....

Ours is not a high capacity. Check with a dealer or the factory website.

The regulation of these chemicals has nothing to do with global warming AT ALL, and the subject should not even be mentioned in the article.

Correct! It's about Honeywell, Chemours, Monsanto and more tightening their grip on the nation's food supply.

It was all a scam. CFC’s are much heavier than air so it does not float up into the ozone in the first place. Just the normal rent seeking by crony capitalists and RATS/Rinos who are happy to sell laws to the highest bidders.

You over state the facts

There are in fact hybrid water heaters with heat pumps but the standards are still available with the additional insulation. the price did not in fact double

Certainly agree with the Speed Queen washer thought. Also bought one 3 years ago and won’t go back to the Maytags and others who are pale images of their former glory. Now I just repair any of my appliances that go awry and stop buying the ‘new’ junk.
Rather than that monstrosity required now for an 80 gal. water heater, I’ll just connect two 40 gal versions [old school,if I can find them].
When they started outlawing 100w bulbs, I invested in enough to last me till MY lights go out.
Let the enviro-Nazis take a long walk on a short pier...

Rhetorical question.

“What exactly is the flaw in my syllogism?”

Simplistic, inaccurate, not reflective of the actual science of the situation. Basically everything about it.

What in the world can the regulation of chloroflurocarbons possibly have to do with a "grip on the nation's food supply"??
