San Francisco....figures....Just plain nasty...
The rest of the USA should sever relations with the City of Washington D.C.when they unveil a statue paying tribute to crack head, race baiter Marian Berry.
Like slavery here in the US.
Go to Japan, as I have numerous times, and travel by train. You will find that the Japanese school children are often on trains taking field trips. If they see you, most likely they will engage you and their pitch almost always is: “Why did you bomb us? and promise you won’t ever do it again!” The Japanese still don’t acknowledge what they did in the years in the run up to Pearl Harbor and the fact that they attacked us. Talk about indoctrination of their children with the untruthful narrative that America started WWII with Japan, and that somehow Pearl Harbor was a “response.”
I like how Democrats complain that Confederate statues are “controversial” while putting up stuff such as this and Harvey Milk.
When a**holes collide.
The Sculpture
If the Japanese hadn't done it someone would have anyway.
history is bitch especially if you are on the wrong side.
Nice job of “coexisting” there, SF!
So how come San Francisco gets to keep its monument to slavery from a 72 year old war that has nothing to do with them, but a Confederate battle flag is completely out of the question?
But the mayor was happy to have a sister city full of sexually confused people.
I believe in living in the here and now. getting worked up over past wrongs of a country can turn in to tit for tat game when the wrongs one is angry over happened over 70 years ago...we must remember the past but then move on to the present and make sure we don’t let the past dictate are future.
While the “comfort women” reality is what it is, why would it be beneficial for an American city to rub Japan’s nose in it? I’m not giving them a pass, but should America not be forgiven, at some point, for the bad that occurred under our history? It’s 2017. How much kneeling is enough? It serves only to divide people. This was not done to acknowledge anything or anyone. It’s a predominantly Chinese area carrying historical hatreds to American shores. We should reject it as neither the time or place.
