NBC sports announcer Al Michaels blamed Trump stoking tensions in the take a knee nonsense plaguing the NFL.
In an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Michaels said he believed the kneeling controversy was simmering down until Trump weighed in, once the president made those remarks in Alabama, at that particular point it was like throwing a match into a gas tank.
Good for you. Me too.
I went from being parked in front of the TV all weekend, to *forgetting* that there were games on Thurs/Mon night. Can't even tell you who played or what the score was.
Frankly, I'm surprised at how little I miss it, and how much time has freed up.
"Boycott" is tough for the NFL, but they'd recover. I've skipped that and gone to "Total Indifference", as have a lot of other people I know - plenty right here on FR. That's much, much worse, maybe unrecoverable. The NFL will still be around, but days of celebrating the Super Bowl as a defacto National Holiday might soon be over.
No Al, the NFL is the cause of the NFLs problems. They continue to stay with the BLM ~esque take a knee BS. They own that move and are paying for it. Apparently the NFL is going to ride the BLM train until it crashes their business. That is the NFLs owners fault, not Trumps. BTW, the NFL owners include several billionaires, you would think that they would have some sort of business savvy.
Hmmm?
The announcer for NFL Sunday Night admits the league is in trouble.
Quite different from (If we ignore it isn’t happening) Goodell The Clueless.
Nicely stated, my good FRiend.
The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance! (please read the date this was published)
But there seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be both ignorant and sub-literate every time he opens his mouth. (Most of his fans were just as ignorant and unlettered; the disease was spreading.)
