A U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed in the line of duty Sunday while patrolling the Big Bend Sector of Texas along the southern border with Mexico.
Agent Rogelio Martinez, 36, died of injuries sustained while responding to activity near Interstate 10 in the Van Horn Station area, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Martinez and his partner, who was injured, were transported to a hospital. The partner, who was not identified, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

OMG!!
Prayers for agent Rogelio Martinez’s family and the wounded agent.
And a prototype is not a wall
It does not say how they were “injured”, you they do not know yet or they don’t want to say.
nothing yet
The Border Patrols Special Operations Group and agents from Customs and Border Protections Air and Marine Operations are searching the area for potential suspects or witnesses.
Nothing about how he was killed, shot, stabbed, or beaten to death.
Zip about his murderers!
I just read another article and it says they’re looking for suspects but doesn’t say what happened.
How long do we have to be Mexico’s bitch? They laugh at us and we have been invaded.
So far nothing more.
I agree we need the wall and we need to deport illegals.
Yes build the damned wall now!
Now that certainly puts my mind at rest.
Maybe the same FBI agency will solve the murder of one BP agent and another who is seriously wounded, just like they are doing with the scores dead and wounded in Las Vegas!
That crime is either tied to terrorism or the underworld of gambling interests.
Unfortunately, that once highly esteemed agency gets control of serious crimes, they disappear off the headlines and go into a black hole in outer space!
McCain would want you to move along, nothing to see here.
Lets git er done, folks!
“Spokesman Carlos Diaz told The Associated Press the FBI has taken over the investigation.”
Is it normal protocol for the FBI to step in? In other situations we’ve seen that when the fbi takes over the investigation, it spells coverup.
I wondered if it was standard practice for the FBI to take over cases when an agent from another Federal police agency has been killed. I did a search for Brian Terry and the FBI, and it looks like they handled that case as well...although like you, it doesn’t give you any sense of confidence that a thorough job will be done, or the truth will be told.
No details of how this happened has been released yet.
MY AMERICAN BLOOD BOILS!!!!
Amen.
