A U.S. warship collided with a Japanese commercial tug boat in Japan's Sagami Bay on Saturday, marking the fifth time this year that a ship in the U.S. Navy's 7th Fleet in the Pacific has been involved in a crash. The Japanese tug boat lost propulsion and drifted into the USS Benfold during a towing exercise. The U.S. guided-missile destroyer sustained minimal damage, and there were no reported injuries on either vessel, according to a press release from the U.S. Navy's 7th Fleet. The USS Benfold, which is awaiting a full damage assessment, remains at sea under its own power. The incident will be investigated, the 7th Fleet said.

I wouldn’t argue with that.
Having done it myself, I do have a certain affinity for folks like that.
Heh heh heh...
Take care.
The Japanese tug boat lost propulsion and drifted into the USS Benfold during a towing exercise.
The Japanese tug boat was towing our destroyer.
The Japanese tug boat lost propulsion/power and that causes the tug boat to lose control. Then, it drifted into our Destroyer.
I’ve also done it myself. lol.

Isn’t this what happens when promotions/retention/hiring are based on irrelevant crap like race, gender, sexual orientation or political correctness? Instead of competence/proficiency? NOBODY Obama put in or retained in a top job belongs there.

This may not be of the magnitude of the other incidents but this is still a part of a much greater problem.
The editor who wrote the headline didn’t even read the story.
Headline is wrong, the Tug drifted into the US ship and hit it not the other way around. But of course the media has to put the military in a bad light whether legitimate or not.
I was saying that tongue in cheek, although the main fact that I've done it was certainly true.
You take care...
Yup, and see all the melodrama over false reporting of who hit whom. Some FReepers are as guilty as the media.
It’s not. That US ship could have been a freighter or cruise ship. It was the fault of the tug boat.
You, too.

“The editor who wrote the headline didnt even read the story”.
BINGO! You win best post.
You’re right.
“Isnt this what happens when promotions/retention/hiring are based on irrelevant crap like race, gender, sexual orientation or political correctness? Instead of competence/proficiency? NOBODY Obama put in or retained in a top job belongs there”.
Obama’s Social Engineering had nothing to do with this incident. It was the fault of the Japanese tug boat crew.
Would argue the tug without power and likely not making headway is less maneuverable at that point. Perhaps also a steering casualty in addition to power loss. The investigation will sort it out.
Regarding the two incidents earlier this summer, here's an interesting little quote: "They were either incredibly complacent or sloppy beyond description," said Carl Schuster, a former US Navy officer who spent 10 years "driving the ships." Cause: Obama. No one he sanctioned for high office should have a job.
indeed
I like my coffee black. The tug boat drifted into the Benfield. The Benfield skipper will not be held responsible.

No one was injured on either vessel and Benfold sustained minimal damage, including scrapes on its side, pending a full damage assessment. Benfold remains at sea under her own power. The Japanese commercial tug is being towed by another vessel to a port in Yokosuka. The incident will be investigated.
Benfold is forward deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia- Pacific
